In my day, I was a champion Tango dancer -- I am sure there are still some in Washington that remember one infamous evening -- but I won't go there right now!!!

Did you know that the original dances were done as methods of healing?

They were similar to what we call Tai Chi -- the Hula and Balinese Dances.

The method that was utilized was similar to acupuncture -- the body would perform its own acupuncture by the positions the body assumed in the dance.

This method could be compared to balancing the body's energy system -- the major and minor meridians -- or the Chakras.

Healers -- in those days -- were "dancing girls" or "temple dancers".

Most people today are familiar with "Touch for Health". A method of giving healing energy to an ill person. A "Temple Dancer" was taught how to create an "energy field" that would fill the Temple with healing energy. Anyone who was inside the Temple would be healed.
