In Response To: Reader: "I would like to advise people to do a little checking into this before they follow advice ..." (hobie)
We went through this already with this particular reader's hate for the truth about "good" salt.
This particular reader slanders and twists everything out of context but cannot disprove the facts that are stated in the article!
Tell us reader (Tom) if these statements below are not true!
Prove that the 30:1 ratio between Natrium and Kalium is not true!
Prove that our blood salt ratio is not the same as sea water!
Prove that Kalium is not harmful to us above 4.5 grams level!
Prove that Kalium salt is just as good as Natrium salt!
Prove that our agricultural lands are not depleted from essential nutrients and they use artificial fertilizers (Kalium) that harm us!
My previous reply to the same character and to hobie who also thought the article about salt was confusing.
Thank you for your response hobie.
I apologize for the “confusion” in the article about salt.
It is most likely that the confusion/misunderstanding comes from the usage of terms. I used Kalium and its derivatives, instead of potassium. Like with many other English words and terms, I am not an “expert” translating them correctly, especially when I don't use the respective English words and terms. As they say: “the rest is history.”
What I was trying to say in the article is that the ratio between the two (Natrium and Kalium) should be the same as it is in sea water. 30:1. This ratio is broken, favoring Kalium, because of the artificial fertilizers that are used today. Not a desirable condition. Additionally, fruits and vegetables contain much, much more Kalium than Natrium, so vegetarians are deprived of Natrium. Not a desirable condition. It is waaaay better to have an excess of Natrium than Kalium in the body. Look at the ratio!
Our blood also has (should) this ratio! During WW2, when blood supplies were short, the wounded sailors were injected sea water into their veins and saved their life.
Kalium stays in the body for about eight hours after ingestion. As it is stated in the article, a perfectly healthy individual needs only about 4.5 gram of Kalium to show heart problems. Keeping the 30:1 ratio of Natrium to Kalium would be considered “moderation”, I suppose. “Moderation” is definitely a key factor in our health, I couldn't agree more.
Instead of looking at some “study” that contradicts this 30:1 ratio, I rather follow nature's path then some “expert” with his/her biased opinion. It is the readers responsibility to discern (listening to your own spirit) what is “good” or “bad” for you.
