Greece will ask for solidarity with refugees and fair burden sharing among EU member states at a summit of EU and Turkey on Monday, said on Sunday, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, criticizing the introduction of stricter border controls that led to the blockade of refugees and the humanitarian crisis in his country.

Tsipras accused Austria and the Balkan countries that they are "destroying Europe" by slowing the influx of migrants and refugees who want go from Greece to the north of Europe.

In Greece are blocked some 30,000 migrants, waiting that Macedonia opens its borders, and by the end of the month their number could get, according the European Commission up to 100,000.

"Europe has a nervous breakdown," Tsipras said at a meeting of the central committee of his Syriza party. "Will Europe's fear and racism overcome Europe's of solidarity?" He asked.

He thinks that the Central European countries with serious demographic problems and low long-term unemployment could benefit from the millions of refugees, but the austerity policies have created extreme right "monster" that is opposed to that.

"Europe today is in the gap between savings and closed borders. Hold the door open for savings, but closed to people fleeing war," he said. "Member States led by Austria want impose the logic of fortress Europe."

"We do not point fingers to any country or nation in Europe. We oppose those who are subject to xenophobia and racism," he said. "We will continue to save lives ... and defend the humanity of Europe."

Tsipras said that at the EU summit with Turkey on Monday he will seek solidarity towards refugees, reducing the influx from Turkey, a fair distribution of the burden and combating human trafficking. Will also seek sanctions against countries that do not respect the decisions of the EU.
