Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said today that his country abstains from the response to Russia related to the measures it imposed to Turkey because of the destruction of the Russian bomber, but that Ankara's patience is not unlimited

Cavusoglu said that Turkey wants to overcome tensions with Russia but that Moscow uses "every opportunity" to come crashing down on Turkey.

"If we did not respond to everything they have done so far is not because we are afraid or because of the psychology of guilt," said Cavusoglu for NTV television. Downed Russian airplane at the Syrian border degraded the hitherto warm relations between Turkey and Russia to the lowest level after the Cold War.

Russia introduced economic sanctions against Turkey and launched in the UN Security Council issue the deployment of Turkish troops in Iraq. Russian President Vladimir Putin today at a meeting with senior military officials said that he had ordered the military to immediately destroy all targets that threaten the Russian forces in Syria.
Without mentioning the name of Turkey, Putin warned against "further provocation" and said that the Russian army must "strongly" react.
