Let me preface the main body of this article, which concerns the nature of the supersensible beings which stand behind David Icke's teachings, by detailing my position regarding David Icke, now that I have had more time to reflect on the man and his writings. At first I thought, people may believe in the 'Reptilian connection' and the 'exterrestrial origins' of the Gods and of men, but why would anyone set themselves up to propagate such teachings and proclaim them as the true history of the world? Here was a man, David Icke, who had taken it as his life's mission, not only to expose injustice and abuse by those in positions of authority, but also to propagate such teachings to as many people as possible, an englishman at that, when the English are traditionally reluctant to change, reluctant to speak openly about matters of faith and possessing an overtly sceptical and rational, some would say philistine, approach to life and its mysteries. (I can well understand now that an Englishman was purposefully chosen exactly for those reasons). Initially I thought that this man has to be a plant by the hidden powers in this world - possibly the British Secret Services given that David had been employed by the Establishment BBC, where all employees allegedly have to be approved by MI5, at the time of his 'enlightenment' - with a brief to infiltrate and mislead the so-called 'New Age' movement and to discredit them in the eyes of the masses. For the American readers, I should mention that David received a lot of publicity in Britian, both on television and in print, when he came out publically to proclaim his 'enlightenment'.
Having explored further and pondered longer on David's life and teachings, it has become clearer to me that David began as a decent, honest man, who fought for what he believed in and that it now pains me to see a man like David so deceived. Yes, he may have become egotistical as others have alleged, but this can afflict anyone who believes they have 'the Truth', particularly if they regard themselves as the first to have been shown the path to this 'truth' and, hence, the temptation is there to set oneself up as a leader of men. We are dealing with what may be termed 'the Temptation of David Icke' and to find the source of the deception in his teachings one has to go beyond David the man and seek its origin in the circumstances surrounding David being 'shown the way' towards these teachings. With this in mind I present a few thoughts on the being/beings which have set up David Icke, in both senses of the term, by using his account of his life as detailed in his autobiographical fragment at his website entitled 'David Icke's Journey' - http://www.davidicke.com/icke/about.html (I have posted what the being channeled through the psychic told David below). I am enquiring of the intentions of the beings manipulating David and not the intentions of David himself, which I now believe to be honorable.
David's account, which is outlined in his brief autobiographical article on his web site, is that David had felt a presence around him whilst writing his work 'It Doesn't Have To Be Like This' in 1989 and that in this "early period of awakening" he heard voices on three separate occasions and in three different places. I will focus on the second of these, which occurred on his third visit to a psychic and which were channelled through the psychic - David's contact with this particular psychic had indirectly come about through the influence of the first voice.
The first thing to note is that this is a being whose presence is signalled on this occasion by the feeling of a spider's web on David's face - "I felt like a spider's web on my face". Previously, he has referred to feeling a presence around him, which led him to exclaim in a hotel room in London in early 1990: "If you are there will you please contact me because you are driving me up the wall". This being has sought him out and David's words suggest that a feeling of discomfort is associated with its presence. The appearance of this being on the first and third occasions, when David is alone, is associated with the feeling that feet are "stuck to the ground as if two magnets were pulling them to the floor". When David is with the psychic it manifests in a different way, in the manner proscribed by this psychic's book, namely with the feeling of a spider's web on the face. The warning signs appear to be there. It might be significant that David continues, regarding the spider's web, with "I had remembered reading in her book [the book of the psychic to whom the first voice directed him] that this can happen when "spirits" are trying to make contact".
The feeling of a spider's web on the face seems to suggest an uncomfortable, 'creepy', feeling. The idea behind the creation of a spider's web is to create a means whereby the spider may catch his unsuspecting victim who has wandered into his sphere of existence. It is a deliberate creation of the spider to catch its prey. The question has to be asked: Would a benevolent being manifest in such a manner? The name 'web' is also the name given to the Internet, the creation of which is inspired by Ahrimanic/Satanic machinations, creating a web of artificial intelligence across the globe, in to which people are encouraged to submerge their individual consciousness.
On the other two occasions the being holds David in the spot in which he is standing by a downward force, which David compares to the influence of magnets. When one imagines the Satanic power it is of a being who wishes to trap man on the earth, in earthly affairs, to imprison him in an earthly paradise, a being who desires to stop man's thoughts from rising towards the heavens, to prevent man from thinking about spiritual beings and the spiritual world. Is it by coincidence that spiritual ideas become earthly in David's philosophy?
In David's teachings, as espoused in his online article 'The Veil of Tears', evil beings become "alien groups" who "hijacked" the planet by "using their advanced technology"; they become "hijacking extraterrestrials" whom the ancients mistook for gods. The traditional gods of Judaism, the "Christian Bible, Islam and most of the others" become alien visitors: "Their version of God relates to the type of extraterrestrials from which their religion originated or the way many different extraterrestrial-related stories became fused into a composite God over the centuries". What better way, asks David, to manipulate people than "to create or distort a series of superstitious religions based upon extraterrestrial special effects"? We must replace the words 'God' and 'gods' in ancient texts with the word 'extraterrestrial' for history to begin to make sense, argues David. David further asks "Was Jesus a member of a positive extraterrestrial race who became incarnate to help humanity get out of prison?"
Thus are sublime, powerful and ever-present spiritual beings transformed into distant earth-bound distortions (even if their 'earth' is said to be a planet far away) with whom our souls can form no relationship.
Let us now examine the words of the being to David, words which are channelled through the psychic.
"He is a healer who is here to heal the earth" - an appeal to egotism and David's genuine and noble concerns for the fate of the earth. It is playing up David's role in the world and encouraging him to separate from the environmental movement in general. David has stated earlier in the article that he had already felt himself growing apart from the leadership of the Green movement.
"and he will be world famous" - another appeal to egotism
"He will face enormous opposition" - David has already spoken of "a fierce determination I always had not to capitulate to adversity and to overcome whatever life may choose to put before me". This is an appeal to this aspect of his personality.
"but we will always be there to protect him" - Portraying themselves as benevolent beings, as 'guardian angels'.
"He is still a child spiritually, but he will be given the spiritual riches". This is saying, David you are not by nature equipped to discover the 'whole Truth', but we have chosen you and we will give you the 'Truth'. In effect, telling David do not try to think to much for yourself regarding spiritual matters, and do not think too deeply on what we give you (and which by his own admission he has not sought). The wording - "he will be given THE spiritual riches" - implies that what David is to be given is the ultimate, unchallengeable truth regarding man and the world, not just "spiritual riches", but "the spiritual riches". By implication, do not seek the Truth anywhere else, and anything that contradicts what we guide you towards is False.
"Sometimes he will say things and wonder where they came from. They will be our words." - Their revelations will bypass his conscious mind
"...at other times he will be led to knowledge" - They will lead him to knowledge he will not have to work to acquire it.
"He was chosen as a youngster for his courage" - An appeal to pride, it is David who has been chosen over all others to take their message to mankind. One is tempted to see the whole of one's life as leading up to this moment. He has been chosen "for his courage", implying that even as a child he had made himself worthy of their revelation through his noble quality of courage.
"He has been tested and has passed all the tests" - They are saying he has earned what they will reveal to him. He has passed "all the tests", not just some of them, but all of them.
"He was led into football to learn discipline" - Why should discipline be so important to them?
"...The spiritual way is tough and no-one makes it easy" - It is a tough path, but through their pledge to give David revelations, "he shall be given the spiritual riches", and their pledge to "always be there to protect him", they make it seem relatively easy. Another appeal to pride, follow us and you shall be following a tough path (though we shall make it easier, we shall not mention it here, only how tough it will be and how brave, by implication, you shall be if you follow it).
"...Politics is not for him. He is too spiritual. Politics is anti-spiritual and will make him very unhappy" - An appeal to spiritual pride, you are above politics and the dirty affairs of men, henceforth you shall pursue only the 'spiritual', for you are worthy of it. It is interesting that he is led away from politics, an arena in which he could actually threaten those in power on earth. Wouldn't it be refreshing to see David Icke standing on the floor of the House of Commons, castigating those in power, exposing mind control devices, exposing assassinations which the 'State' has committed, accusing those in power of abuses? Think of the great job he would do in politics, and think how uneasy certain people would feel. As humans we have a right to pursue political involvement, to stay apart is to allow the minority in power to maintain their power into the future. Politics is not 'anti-spiritual', even if a lot of those humans involved in politics are.
"...He was led here to be contacted, not to be cured. But one day he will be completely cured". This is saying, we are not those powers who will cure a man to win his confidence, but follow us and we will nonetheless cure you in the future. Remember, he had not been seeking a cure from his visit to the psychic, he wanted the 'first voice' to contact him again, so they are, in fact, giving him what he wants, and offering him the bonus that he will be cured later.
"...(Exactly as happened)" It is a very basic faculty to see the future, particularly if a being is dis-embodied! In general, it is not permissible to reveal the future, particularly the future of an individual, as when it proves to be accurate you gain power over that person in that they regard you as an authority. As Banquo says with surprise in 'Macbeth' "What, can the devil speak true?" (See below). The risk is also that the individual will subconsciously strive to fulfil the prediction. After all, we all want something to believe in and this particular being is promising David a significant role in earthly affairs, he is heralding him as an apostle of truth in the world (just as Macbeth is hailed as a future King). He writes later in the article "Yet ten years later, most of it has happened or is happening. Even down to the five books in three years, which I wrote to the month". Through personal predictions one impinges on personal freedom as one can engender either fatalism or a subconscious desire to fulfil those predictions. Is David likely to write four books or six books when it has been implanted in his subconscious that he will write five, is this why the prediction is fulfilled "to the month"? If he doesn't write five books, then the beings could be wrong regarding the world-historical role which these beings have ascribed to Icke's life, and maybe he does not wish to discredit this prediction regarding his role (consciously or subconsciously), as by this point it is presumably what has given his life meaning - a meaning which he couldn't find in the uninspiring leadership of the Green Party.
"in 20 years there will be a different kind of flying machine, very different from the aircraft of today. Time will have no meaning. Where you want to be, you will be" - All very esoteric, perhaps an attempt to give an impression that they really do possess deep and meaningful hidden knowledge. It might be referring to the timetable of the coming incarnation of Satan/Ahriman, specifically to the occult schools that he may establish (see below).
"There will be great earthquakes. ..." - This whole section is an appeal to David the environmentalist. It is saying look at what is to happen to the earth, you must join us and help us to save the world from potential destruction, you must fulfil your mission to "heal the earth" (their opening statement).
The theme of revelation being given to David without him having sought it or made himself worthy of it is particularly significant when taken in conjunction with one aspect of what Ahriman/Satan wishes to establish for man through his earthly incarnation, namely an occult school in which to initiate people into unearned, subjective visions of the spiritual world:
"And here we come to a chapter that must not be withheld from modern knowledge. If, in the future, people were to do nothing themselves toward acquiring a new wisdom, then, without their consciousness, the whole of culture would become ahrimanic, and it would be easy for the influences issuing from Ahriman's incarnation to permeate all civilization on the earth. Precautions must therefore be taken in regard to the streams by which the ahrimanic form of culture is furthered. What would be the result if people were to follow the strong inclination they have today to let things drift on as they are, without understanding and guiding into right channels those streams which lead to an ahrimanic culture? As soon as Ahriman incarnates at the destined time in the West, the whole of culture would be impregnated with his forces. What else would come in his train? Through certain stupendous acts he would bring to humanity all the clairvoyant knowledge which until then can be acquired only by dint of intense labor and effort. People could live on as materialists, they could eat and drink-as much as may be left after the war!-and there would be no need for any spiritual efforts. The ahrimanic streams would continue their unimpeded course. When Ahriman incarnates in the West at the appointed time, he would establish a great occult school for the practice of magic arts of the greatest grandeur, and what otherwise can be acquired only by strenuous effort would be poured over humankind.
"Let it never be imagined that Ahriman will appear as a kind of hoaxer, playing mischievous tricks on human beings. No, indeed! Lovers of ease who refuse to have anything to do with spiritual science would fall prey to his magic, for by means of these stupendous magic arts he would be able to make great numbers of human beings into seers-but in such a way that the clairvoyance of each individual would be strictly differentiated. What one person would see, a second and a third would not see. Confusion would prevail and in spite of being made receptive to clairvoyant wisdom, people would inevitably fall into strife on account of the sheer diversity of their visions. Ultimately, however, they would all be satisfied with their own particular vision, for each of them would be able to see into the spiritual world. In this way all culture on the earth would fall prey to Ahriman. Human beings would succumb to Ahriman simply through not having acquired by their own efforts what Ahriman is ready and able to give them. No more evil advice could be given than to say: "Stay just as you are! Ahriman will make all of you clairvoyant if you so desire. And you will desire it because Ahriman's power will be very great." But the result would be the establishment of Ahriman's kingdom on earth and the overthrow of everything achieved hitherto by human culture; all the disastrous tendencies unconsciously cherished by humankind today would take effect.
"Our concern is that the wisdom of the future - a clairvoyant wisdom - shall be rescued from the clutches of Ahriman. Again let it be repeated that there is only one book of wisdom, not two kinds of wisdom. The issue is whether this wisdom is in the hands of Ahriman or of Christ. "
(Rudolf Steiner, from a lecture on the 15th November 1919. Contained in lecture-cycle entitled 'The Influences of Lucifer and Ahriman')
In the third meeting with the being in Peru, David Icke, seems to enter a form of mystical ecstasy, standing rooted to the spot, with his body shaking and his arms above his head for "well over an hour". His body shakes "as if plugged into a power station", which stopped "as if someone had flicked a switch". The whole natural environment in Peru, to which David has gone as the result of an intuition, appeals to David's sense of wonder in nature. It is interesting that the act of natural wonder which signals the end of his experience is not the appearance of the Sun, as might be associated with the experience of a Christian mystic in the past, but the appearance of clouds and rain, in a perfectly clear and bright sky. Clouds can be viewed as a symbol of the Ahrimanic, which block man's view of the Sun, the source of light and heat, and, hence, the symbol of Life. Clouds can be seen as the barrier which prevent the thoughts of man on earth reaching the light of the heavens - we commonly speak of the 'mind being clouded' and of 'brain fog' when we are finding it difficult to think clearly.
We actually have an similar example of the process that Icke undergoes in our cultural heritage, in Shakespeare's Macbeth. There seems to be a certain kinship between Icke's Inspiration and the witches' exclamations.
"All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, thane of Glamis!"
"All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!"
"All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, that shalt be king thereafter"
Note that Shakespeare uses a simple structure - they state, firstly, something which Macbeth knows, but which they themselves could not, secondly, they state something which Macbeth does not, but which nonetheless has come to pass on the physical plane, then, thirdly they state something which has not yet happened, but which they say will come to pass.
Macbeth's companion Banquo then asks them speak to him, as one "who neither beg nor fear/ Your favours nor your hate", and the witches speak:
"Lesser than Macbeth, and greater"
"Not so happy, yet much happier"
"Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none"
When their first prophecy regarding Macbeth comes true, Banquo exclaims the significant words "What, can the devil speak true?". This relates to a problem which affects many today, namely that any form of revelation, hearing voices, seeing visions, etc. is ascribed to the power of God. What we have to ask is do these visions not impinge upon our personal freedom, and is not the acquisition of freedom our greatest goal? Why would benevolent powers tell us what is to come to pass in our own lives? We must believe and feel that we are free to determine the course of our lives as we see fit, not according to the promptings of some being whom we have no way of telling what its nature and intentions are. Personal prophecies work suggestively, particularly those which promise personal reward or greatness in the future, subconsciously the risk is that we will strive to fulfil the prophecies, or that they will engender fatalism regarding our lives and, thus, rob us of our freedom. People want to believe in a spiritual world and life after death and, therefore, it is not surprising that many accept the first vaguely spiritual experience that comes their way as genuine. The kingdom of God lies in some sense within. Human teachers may attempt to educate us in the ways of the spirit if we have freely shown a desire to learn of the spiritual world. With human teachers we can also hold them accountable, and we can be aware that our ideas have come from them and not from beings unknown. The age of involuntary revelation by benevolent beings is past, they leave it to man to determine his own future and it is man's decision if he wishes to seek them and their world. Man may receive spiritual enlightenment from the benevolent powers, but he has to prove himself worthy of such knowledge and he has to strive towards it in freedom, and such beings will never threaten the seekers freedom by revealing what will happen in that person's life in the future. By revealing a person's future to someone who is sceptical towards the existence of a spiritual world, that man can be 'forced' to believe - a man must have a right to believe that the material-physical world is the only world; it has to be his decision to seek knowledge of a spiritual world.
Macbeth is a noble, earnest man at the time of his encounter with the witches. It is his encounter with the witches that signals the beginning of his outward ascent in the world, and the beginning of his decline as a noble, moral human being. Once one prophecy comes true, he feels the other is now a God-given right, which he must achieve through whatever means possible.
Shakespeare deals with an aspect of human nature that our university-educated scholars cannot. Shakespeare's play warns of the danger of such involuntary revelations and their negative effect on a good man - am I alone in seeing a parallel with the twentieth century case of David Icke?
The elaborate deception that is set up for David, shows that it is likely that they regard him as a significant individuality, who had and still has, a significant role to play in our age. Killing a person physically is not a means that the corrupt powers often resort to, it is far better from their perspective to slay someone spiritually and prevent them from fulfilling their mission that way. The attempt has been made to place David in spiritual manucles, despite the impression being that David has acquired freedom from the corrupt powers which reign in this world. History may well regard David's life as a tragedy, another name to add to the many who have failed to fulfil what they themselves had planned for their lives in the period between their last life on earth and their new life.
It is my belief that David Icke's teachings form part of the Ahrimanic Deception of Man and, hence, are helping the preparations for the incarnation of the Satanic power.
Note: When I refer to Inspiration as in 'The Inspiration behind David Icke', I mean Inspiration as the perception of the spiritual world or of spiritual beings through sound.
-------------------------------
The words David Icke ascribes to the being which spoke through the medium on the 29th March 1990 (from the article 'David Icke's Journey' at www.davidicke.com) :
He is a healer who is here to heal the earth and he will be world famous. He will face enormous opposition, but we will always be there to protect him. He is still a child spiritually, but he will be given the spiritual riches. Sometimes he will say things and wonder where they came from. They will be our words. Knowledge will be put into his mind, and at other times he will be led to knowledge.
He was chosen as youngster for his courage. He has been tested and has passed all the tests. He was led into football to learn discipline, but when that was learned it was time to move on. He also had to learn how to cope with disappointment, experience all the emotions, and how to get up and get on with it. The spiritual way is tough and no-one makes it easy.
We know he wanted us to contact him, but the time wasn't right. He was led here to be contacted, not to be cured. But one day he will be completely cured. He will always have what he needs, but no more.
Don't try to do it all alone. Go hand in hand with others, so you can pick each other up as you fall.
One man cannot change the world, but one man can communicate the message that will change the world.
He will write five books in three years.
Politics is not for him. He is too spiritual. Politics is anti-spiritual and will make him very unhappy.
He will leave politics. He doesn't have to do anything. It will happen gradually over a year. (Exactly as happened)
In 20 years there will be a different kind of flying machine, very different from the aircraft of today. Time will have no meaning. Where you want to be, you will be.
There will be great earthquakes. These will come as a warning to the human race. They will occur in places that have never experienced them. Taking oil from the seabed is destabilising the inner earth. The centre of the earth will move and the poles will change. The sea spirits will rise and stop men taking oil. The sea will reclaim the land and humans will see that they cannot do these terrible things. They cannot abuse the elements. They have to be treated with respect.
