The name of the original Knights Templar was:

"The poor knights of christ and the temple of Solomon(in Jerusalem)"

According to history(written by the "winners" as usual) the order
was dissolved by Papal Bull in 1314 & their assets given to the
Hospitallers.

From my research, Spain & Portugal seem to be the places where
any organised "successor" orders to the Templars were located.
