According to a dear friend who works with the Internet, she travelled freely through Louisville yesterday on a number of errands and then returned to the suburbs.

My friend has not heard of anything untoward, as of 3:30 PM EDT, and one would suspect that a federal take-over of a whole city or even of a fair-sized town would cause telephones to start to ring and messages to fly. And if a whole town was shut down, the "hole" in the Internet traffic would make someone curious and in a big hurry. At the present time I have no contacts in Knoxville (which, by the way, is in Tennessee).

The Militia of Montana news alert indicates that the federalites under Janet "the Torch" Reno are looking to bolster the FBI and other agencies in the western Carolina region -- because of the threat of domestic terrorism. They think that some rednecks migh be starting to smoke tobacco again, so they're a-gonna ... sigh ... you get the idea.

Nothing indicated about Louisville, though, as of this hour.
