My answer:

I read that information in a large research book called "The South was Right". I don't have that book at this time, but will contact a friend to find out the exact quote on that info. I have a good memory when it comes to things like that and know the quote was from that book. However, I can't vouch for it being absolutely true, since all I can do is quote what they wrote. It is possible they exaggerated or many of the states passed a law to outlaw slavery, but not sure if all of them did before the end of the war. But if my memory serves me correctly the statement was that "all of the southern states at one point outlawed slavery by the end of the war". George Eaton

You are right, I have never read that in my history books, in fact, I have never read it anywhere. Can you lead me to the sources of information that prompted you to make such a statement? I would like to become better informed.
