Police in Dusseldorf have arrested a man Fatmir H. (36) originating from Kosovo, who is suspected of attacking with an ax the people at the railway station in Germany.

The suspect is a man, according to the latest police statement, originally from Kosovo, residing in the German city of Wuppertal, only 28 kilometers from Dusseldorf. Police said the arrested is mentally ill.

The German magazine "Der Spiegel" published on the website that the suspect was identified and investigators said he hoped to be killed by the police after the attack, reports AFP.

As a reminder, an attack took place on Thursday at 21 h, and police initially said that five people were injured, but later informed that the number of injured has risen to seven, three of whom were seriously injured. Among the injured is 13-year-old girl who suffered a blow with an ax in the upper arm.

Just a day after Kosovo's Fatmir H. attacked the citizens at the railway station in Düsseldorf with ax, injuring nine of them, in this city there's been another attack. This time the weapon was a machete, and the attacker is on the run.

Police spokesman Andreas said that in the attack was injured one man. "Sputnik" reported that also one woman was wounded and that the search for the attacker is in progress.

The victim is in hospital and is not in danger.
