Criticism automation is difficult to sustain when statistics clearly illustrate its potential. The latest evidence coming from China factory in Dongguan City.

The factory was recently replaced 90 percent of their workforce and increase machine productivity by an astounding 250 percent, while the percentage of errors decreased by 80 percent.

Factory of "Changying Precision Technology" once employed 650 people, which produced mobile phones. Today, it is responsible for producing 60 robotic arm, working 24 hours a day on 10 production lines.

The factory has only 60 employees: three are responsible for controlling and monitoring production lines, while others supervise computer control systems. All remaining work is left to age robotic arms.

Veićijang Luo, general manager of the factory, said the number of workers could be reduced to only 20. With regard to the efficiency achieved by automation, it will not be long before other factories follow the lead factory of Dongguan.

Efficiency, however, has its price: Human jobs. Research at Oxford University and research center, "Oxford Martin" shows that there is a risk that 47 percent of jobs in the US will be automated in the next 20 years.

Artificial intelligence will replace lawyers, journalists, therapists ...

At the same time it will not be the only jobs in the factory. Given the speed at which progress robotics and artificial intelligence, machines will soon be able to take jobs in different industries and to perform at least as well as men - if not better.

Already today, there are robots lawyers who defend clients who unjustifiably written sentence for failure to pay, artificial intelligence that sets medical diagnosis, "journalists" robots and computer-therapists, who are often more successful than the human counterpart when it comes to extracting the necessary information from patients.

Government and private organizations are investing serious effort into this problem, and one of them is "a universal basic income, a system in which all citizens of a country have an unconditional right to a certain amount of money, in addition to generating revenue in other ways.

Pilot projects in India, Canada and Finland have already started and so far have given promising results. It is too early to say whether the universal personal income tax could solve the problem of massive loss of jobs due to automation, but it certainly could be an encouraging economic move during the transition.
