Yes....

It seems that the forces of the universe has the different ways of teaching, according to one's level of awareness.
For the last little while I have been baby-sitting my 16 month old grand-daughter while her parents are working. She is constantly on the move, so has to be watched all the time, except for a 2 hour nap around noon time.
Yesterday, I was doing my usual ancient history stuff on the computer, my grand-daughter in her playpen right beside me, standing up, leaning on the top rail of the play-pen looking at me, talking in that 'language' that I'm starting to talk myself.

Then she says, “See”. I turn to look at her, and she is pointing out the window. I look and there is a squirrel hopping across the back yard. Again she says “See”. I say, “yes, I see”. I turn to look at her, and she is pointing at the cat on the floor, that is looking at us while laying on the floor on its back, its four legs curled up.
Then she says “See” again. I look at her, and she is pointing at the bird in its cage, that is looking at us, while one foot clutched at tiny bell suspended from the top, making it tinkle.

I turned and looked at my grand-daughter, who then says while looking at me, “See”, with a big grin.

I said “yes, I see”, not knowing really what I was supposed to be 'seeing'. I could see the frown on her face, as she bent to pick up a furry animal doll, and started to talk to me in that other 'language'.

About an hour or so later, there is a knock on the door. I pick up my grand-daughter and we go and answer the door. There is a little girl at the door, with an older boy standing at the sidewalk. The little girl has a pledge pamplet in her hand, and she seeking pledges for a community aid. I did not have any money with me, so I asked when does she need the money. She said, “Its due today”. I said I cannot promise a pledge at this time. The little girl said “okay', and walked down the steps to the older boy.

I went back to what I was doing, feeling a little uneasy at not having the money to give the little girl. I put my grand-daughter back in her play pen, and noticed she had this frown on her face. So, in a teasing way I said, “Why are you frowning”. I turned to the computer, and the grand-daughter says, “See”.

I smiled as I turned to her, and she was pointing to my pocket. Playfully, I pull out my wallet, and showed it to her. My grand-daughter points to the wallet and says, “See”. I open the wallet to show her, and there are two $5 bills inside. I stared at the two $5 bills for a bit, as my grand-daughter again says “See”, pointing at the two $5 bills. I picked up the two $5 bills, staring at them. My grand-daughter then again says “See”. I look at her, and she is pointing at me holding the two $5 bills.

I then think of the little girl with the pledge pamphlet, I picked up my grand-daughter and we go out the door to look for the little girl and the older boy, but I do not see them. My grand-daughter then puts both arms around my neck, and then says “See”.

I felt that tremor up the spine, as I hugged my grand-daughter.

Now i'm wondering, who is teaching who?
