The religious fervor that exuded after the 1979 Islamic revolution breathed through the streets of the new Iran. Like any revolution is unlikely that all accept the new status quo. Thus were born the Pasdaran, uncompromising men who act in the shadow of the Iranian government to preserve the ideology of the Islamic revolution. Carefully selected and highly trained soldiers whose sole job is to obey blindly to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
But what do we really know of these so flattered Revolutionary Guards? According to art. 2 of the second chapter of the Statute of the Revolutionary Guards of the Islamic Revolution, the role of the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps), is the "legal fight against the elements or movements that aim to undermine or dismantle the Republic or act against the Islamic Revolution of Iran" . Also art. 3 The mission of the IRGC is described as a "clash lawsuit against the elements who undertake an armed conflict to clear the authority of the laws of the Islamic Republic." Through these two articles the IRGC justify its political role.
Once the war between Iran and Iraq began a gradual reorganization of combat units. Like any self-respecting special force is not given anyone know what the actual number of service offering performance. It is estimated at 150,000 units but are based mainly on rumors. In 1992 the Islamic Republic decided to join the staffs of the Pasdaran with those of the armed forces in an attempt to integrate them. The religious fervor of which the Pasdaran were the icon was likely to be a double edged sword for strategists of the revolution. Although the inclusion of the numerical superiority and military training and intelligence of the Pasdaran was intuitive. Nevertheless the two bodies kept their mandates: the armed forces continued to deal with the conventional defense of the nation while the Revolutionary Guard focused on internal security and the export of the revolution itself.
Consequently, the reform of doctrine inside the Pasdaran have taken many new forms. One of the many quirks that make the Guards of the Revolution a topic so succulent are definitely two of its most important component: the Basij-and Mustafazin and Qods forces. The revolutionary leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a decree to establish the Basij, meaning "large people's militia", in November 1979. It is said that he had determined that "a country with 20 million young people must have 20 million rifle or a militia with 20 million soldiers; such a country will never be destroyed. " At least the origin, the Basij was founded for those who could not pay a regular military service because too young, too old or just with the wrong sex.
After the Iran-Iraq war, the Basij was reorganized and gradually became one of the first sponsors of the internal security of the Iranian Islamic regime. The catchment area of the Basij snakes up a dense network of mosques that address the younger boys to serve for the welfare of the Republic. Many subgroups are present in the universities and in the tribal structures. They are not exempt middle and high schools where recruitment is highest. The mission of the Basij as a whole can be generally defined as an aid to maintaining public order; enforce ideological and Islamic values and the fight against "Western cultural assault". Figures fielded only by the Basij militia are imposing - about 11 million people - to be used as a deterrent to those who would loosen the rigid protocol required by the moral revolution.

The real military arm of the Revolutionary Guards, the heart of the defense are the Iranian Quds Force. The same symbol of the Quds Force captures in one image the entire mission: a fist clutching a machine gun at the summit is written on the sixtieth to the eighth sura of the Koran "Al-Anfal": "Prepare against them all forces that can and horses trained to terrorize the enemy of Allah and your and others that you do not know, but whom Allah knows. All I shall spend in the cause of Allah will be returned and will not be damaged. "
The commander of the Quds Force is directly appointed by the Supreme Leader, which maintains a special unit within its representative in order to control the assets directly. Before being approved, action by the Quds Force follows a precise procedure: the operation is analyzed from the security inside the office of the Supreme Leader (Division 101). It is then discussed by the Supreme Council for National Security and at this point it switches to a special committee formed by the same Supreme Leader, the President, the Secretary of the Commission of National Security, the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS the famous), the Minister of defense and the representative of the Quds Force. Only after this step, control of the operation is taken directly from one of the divisions that make up the component. The divisions are six and all are functional to the role of the Quds Force: intelligence; financing; education and training; policy; sabotage and operational.
To date it is estimated that there are about 3,000 agents throughout the world, with over 1,000 people dedicated to the collection of data intelligence. Their Commander- past 14 years - Qassem Solemani and is considered in all respects the most powerful man in the Middle East today. General, commander of the Quds Force, brings together under his hands all departments of the Revolutionary Guard tasks with intelligence and possibly even military interventions abroad. Personal friend of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who called him "living martyr" on several occasions.
Iran after the limelight on the Russian scene in Syria has risen to the news as one of the main interlocutors between Assad and Putin. A broker military, that despite what has been said by the major Western strategists have in their hands the fate of Iraqi Kurdistan. The Quds Force are notorious for their extreme secrecy, meticulous organization which organize operations, confidentiality and the ability to escape any interception. Soleimani, the commander called for this shadow is first and foremost a sophisticated military grew on the battlefield, as well as a devout Muslim and a staunch defender of the Shiite theocracy ruling Iran. The shadow of Soleimani seems that a few days have moved its refined ability of the government in Damascus. This city where there seems to be some time in the Division of Intelligence largest run by the Quds Force. So much so that it is said that a department is already working together with the Spetsnaz sent to Syria by Putin.
Imagine not take into account the so-called "variable Soleimani" on the Syrian scene is nothing short of an understatement. Solemani is a man and a soldier who has already shown great strategic foresight and determination in pursuing its goals. If Iran were to deploy openly against the men of the Caliphate, Putin is not the only threat that they should fear.
The cold and enveloping feeling of defeat has already wrapped several times the enemies of the ruthless commander shadow, the Caliphate will be next on the list?
