I was perusing Rense website last week and stumbled across a post that said something like "John Lennons greatest hit". I was curious so I took a look.
Turns out it had not much to do with Lennon much, other than some folks years ago thought Lennon had faked his death and was this guy from eastern Canada who was in a band doing John Lennon tribute shows. From the pics of him he does kinda look like John and he sounds like John in the latter days of his career but definitely NOT John. There was a documentary film made about this fellow who's band was called Abracadabra and they released an album called "Listen to the Picture", of which many of the tracks were used in the film. The film itself is memory holed ... no one seems to be able to find a copy but the album is still up on Utube which I downloaded and listened to all the way through. Not a bad piece of work I have to say. Being a musician/songwriter myself, I gave it thumbs up and found it enjoyable. A lot of the songs I found had a similar sound and/or usage of chord progessions and was reminiscent of John's latter day career.
But the one song that NEEDS attention is called Don't Believe and I think is the best track on the record ... with a very Beatle-esk sound similar to Revolution.
