A little story from the years I spent in prison for being right at the wrong time and places. This story might help clear up a lot of confusions about some real simple stuff that makes life more enjoyable and peaceful.

The IMIS, Inmate Intelligence System, always ahead of the HACKS, huge ass holes carrying keys, knew a new law guy was coming weeks before I got to a new pasture.

First thing that happens is the shot callers for the various gangs would approach to see if they could use me.

Seven prisons in twelve years gave me lots of experience in yard etiquette. Never touch any one or their property and always be polite and speak straight.

So the black shot caller asks me to help out some of his brothers and himself.

No problem. Let me ask you some questions.

Did you have an attorney? Was he paid or public pretender?
Yes, a pretender.
Did you go to trial or plead out.
Oh, I got a good deal to I plead out.
Describe your self.
I am a black man in prison protected by a gang.

Do you want me to straight with you?
You all better be.
No backwash?
None, I promise.

I am color blind. I deal with men, real American men. So you have to decide if you are a man that happens to have black skin. Or black before your a man.
I will be the man.
Ok.

Second, from what you told me you relied on a known professional lier to help to tell on your self by pleading guilty.
So you turned your life over to a crook. And now want be to be responsible for you.
Is that about right?
Well I guess when you look at it that way it don’t sound to good.

Perspective in any given situation is always different from situation to situation.

Narrow views, particularly those built by others, usually have a way of narrowing to the point of being choked.

God don’t build sloppy product, we of our species have to make the product sloppy.
A while ago I published an article of that title, God Don’t Build Sloppy Product.
I think it might be a good read in our presently confusing times.
