From the LP called '' A man has got to sing'' released in 1959. Al Alberts was known as the lead singer of the vocal group the four aces.

America used to have lots of family values packed into radio and television entertainment. Al Alberts of The Four Aces was a terrific singer who had The Al Alberts Showcase show Saturdays also hosted a radio called Harmony with his wife, Stella, (they were married in 1954) taped in their home on Sunday and mailed to the station. The Sunday show was more for the whole family, a nice contribution to the whole nation, something for the homes of America instead of just entertainment business promotion.

The Four Aces biggest hit, "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing", which was the theme to the 1955 film starring William Holden and Jennifer Jones, was a number one hit for four weeks, and it also won the Academy Award for best song.

Maybe that's where all the emotion in his voice comes from in this song, actually singing about his true to life love!
