Dear John , Secondly , as a teacher of "autistic children" I have found found that they are of different intellectual abilities, as are all children. The array of intellect is in indirect proportion to the whole community. The thing that differentiates each child is their particular circumstance . The approach to dealing with each individual is knowledge about their circumstances.

However, the best way to reach these children is through their spirit. Knowing them and listening to their non-verbal communication. It is easy to miss the non-verbal communication. It takes time and experience to know what is not said.It takes intuition, and guesswork, and lots of non-scientific stuff to know , and then some. Some of the time you are just sitting and waiting. More of the time it just happens. The science is incomplete, but the experience of being with such a person is challenging and complete , in and of its time.
