Couple tricks that make the last dandelion salad as good as good as the first. You can use any one of these methods or utilize all 3 in order to smooth out the bitterness of the dandelion; Balsamic Vinegar, salt, and or lemon juice. It is surprising how they make a once inedible dandelion into the perfect flavor.

You can also add them to stir-frys if you want to use them in cooked foods.

One of my dogs has been a lover of dandelions since she was a puppy. She was about 5 months old when she spied the pretty yellow flower and bit it off; used her extra long tongue to turn the dandelion so she only had hold of the stem and the flower was hanging from her mouth and then she shook it (there were a couple tiny bugs that she preferred not to eat. Flipped it back around and gobbled it up. Fast forward to this year and after my second dandelion dig and washing them off outside (to get the worst before bringing them into the sink inside)left them to dry off in the sun over night in a wicker basket.

The dandelion lover spotted them (what was I thinking? Saw her coming in the house through the doggie door after dark and wasn't sure what she had in her mouth but knew she was sneaking. I went over and pulled it out of her mouth and she was quite disgruntled.
I got a good laugh, handed it back to her and she ravenously devoured it:)
