Well since I live in Canada ... it might be a good question to ask ... why does Canada, under NAFTA, charge this 270% tariff on US dairy ? Does anyone know ? The only reason I can think of is because of production volume. The USA can produce faaarrr more dairy than Canada and could very well out produce and therefore out sell Canadian producers. IS this why ? If the tariff weren't there American producers would out do the locals and corner the market ? Population imbalance ? as far as farming community goes ?

As far as I'm concerned, it should be fair trade both ways ... even if American producers out produce us Canucks. If that is how it would or should be then each country should or would buy local and support local producers which should resolve any issues. Why should Canadians buy American dairy when we can produce enough for local needs ? and visa versa ?

I suppose when it comes to trade ... should it not boil down to this ... what one country doesn't have then it would have to buy/trade something for what it has a lack of and vice versa.

Weird thing is ... most countries have a reasonable abundance of much of what they need for production needs. If a country has a SPECIALTY item for sale then they have an edge and can make a profit within reason ... NO gouging or profiteering/monopoly. AND likewise for other nations who have a SPECIALTY item that they have developed in order to acquire those resources needed for local production needs. I think that the nations of the world can do reasonable business based upon specialities and expertise and still make ends meet. The golbalist's want to corner EVERY market for the highest profit and THAT'S the problem and almost ALL countries and the people who run them have fallen into that trap.

Canadian farmers cannot compete with the American farmers due to sheer numbers and the tax burdens and subsidies and any other BS that the GOV implements. Hence maybe the tariffs to level the playing field BUT I figure that the market(s) should take care of their own and any surplus can be sold/traded after the fact. I mean why should Canada sell dairy to the USA anyway when they can out produce us in a heart beat ? And on top of that ... why the local Canuck farmers cannot keep up with local demand ? If they cannot then a fair trade deal is in order for the surplus in the USA can be sold in Canada. I say let the farmers themselves do the negotiating through a trade consortium that can make fair deals. They are the ones who would know best how much the product is worth but then there is the transport costs ... hence the need for buying local like it used to be back in the day.

I think that the whole problem is based on the globalization agenda that has made just on time delivery a very disturbing problem. Instead of having locals provide for the immediate needs of the locals they use IMPORTS at a much higher cost that could not be delivered on time IF there is an EVENT.

I'm quite sure that this whole situation has been engineered to

1) make local production and consumption a thing of the past and a lever to manipulate those affected by disruption of service. ie. just on time delivery
2) to have the ability to disrupt service at any given moment to have that leverage.
3) to have a damned good laugh at how stupid the peasants were to have let this all happen.

I'm not a politician although I am starting to think I should start thinking of getting into it locally. I'm a musician and only want to create ... but if things keep going the way they are I'll NEVER get to do that the way I'd like to and get some recognition for it. If I enter politics ... there goes the whole music thing up in smoke. But I know if I entered the political arena ...I'd slaughter anyone who came up against me with the cold hard truth ... especially communists and/or socialists ... demolished ...
