Dear Readers,
Rumor Mill News continues to attract new readers at a pace of about 1,000 a DAY.
Sadly, new readers mean more work for me. Many of you don’t know that I do Rumor Mill News by myself. Some of you have commented that I have been absent lately. I have been absent because there are not enough hours in a day to work a full time job, handle family medical problems, try to find a new place to live, deal with massive sabotage of email, computers and phone lines, AND do Rumor Mill News.
If I did not have to work full time, my schedule would still be busy, but at least I would have time to spend more than an hour, every other day, on Rumor Mill.
Due to things beyond my control, I have finally reached the point where I have decided to let go and let God!
The continued exhaustion of the last 13 years has taken away my enthusiasm for Rumor Mill. Many new readers have no idea what I went through while my husband, Gunther was a political prisoner. My days of exhaustion didn't start three years ago when I put up the webpage for Rumor Mill News. My exhaustion started in 1989. For ten years, Gunther and I lived every day just trying to stay alive.
I survived those years. Our friend and lawyer, Paul Wilcher did not. I don't know about Gunther. On the day he was to have been freed and we were to have been reunited, he disappeared. When he surfaced, one month later, he had no memory of being married to me. I have not heard from him since early 1997. He is alive, but in poor health.
Working a split shift and doing Rumor Mill in my "off-time" has finally pushed me to the point of exhaustion where I am no longer attached to Rumor Mill. I can pull the plug anytime and never miss it!
I have many other things I would rather be doing such as finishing some books, teaching a healing technique that I pioneered 15 years ago, giving lectures, seminars, writing articles for magazines and maybe even doing a radio show.
However, as long as I have to keep an eye on Rumor Mill, not just for updating the front page, but for refereeing agents, and replying to people who are furious with a story that I have put on the front page, I will never have the time to live a life other than Rumor Mill!
To give you an example of some of the things I have to deal with:
I have been threatened with lawsuits for articles that Agents have posted on the Forum without the permission of the persons who wrote them.
AND I have been threatened with a lawsuit by a man who was angry with me because I WOULDN’T post his work!
Answering email has become another time consumer.
This is a problem I don’t know how to handle. Most of the email I receive is so informative that ALL of you would LOVE to see it... BUT, I have no time to read or to forward it to the RMNews Updates.
I barely have the time to reply to close friends and family who think I have “died” because they haven’t heard from me in so long.
Those of us to do Internet News magazines know that they take 100% of our time to keep them fresh and new. I no longer have this kind of time, and sadly, I no longer have the enthusiasm.
If you want Rumor Mill to stay up, then you will have to help me.

At the moment I have a HUGE inventory due to a conference that was canceled AFTER I invested the money in inventory. Since I have a HUGE inventory, and will have to move in the next month or so, I have decided to have a SALE!

If enough people care ENOUGH, then Rumor Mill will continue, if not, then I will end the Rumor Mill News Forum, and the updated front page. I will keep the Rumor Mill News webpage up, but only as an archive for my OWN work!
It comes down to this, I am tired of working full time to come up with the money to pay for a Forum where OTHER people have the privilege of posting and I can’t post because I don’t have the time to write, because I am exhausted because I am working constantly to pay the bills!
If enough people respond, Rumor Mill will continue as it is, if not, then the plug on the Forum will be pulled within two months!

Yesterday I still had hopes that I could somehow juggle everything in my life and keep Rumor Mill up and running. I now realize that this is a pipe dream. Either I get significant help, or Rumor Mill... MINUS the Rumor Mill News Agent’s Forum... will simply become another page hanging in cyberspace... very similar to what happened to Conspiracy Nation.
I may choose to follow the same path that Brian, the Publisher of Conspiracy Nation is walking. He stopped his free webpage and started a “for profit” newsletter.
When I was doing a Print Magazine, I only had 300 subscribers, but at $5.00 a month, I supported myself quite well. I worked FULL TIME and did the magazine at night! Now I have more than 8,000 daily readers, and only 15 of them click the banner each time they visit. At 15 cents a click, I make $1.75 a day!
This figure alone should give you an indication of my frustration! I have shared my frustration with the non-productivity of Rumor Mill before, but before I was not ready to let it go. I am now ready to end it if that is what it takes. Only YOU can save The Rumor Mill News Agency!
