I am going to copy and paste a couple of sites here for you. The volcano at the southern ice pack is called Mount Erebus. It is the largest volcano in the world and the so called scientists say it cannot melt the ice cap. A large enough eruption could break them apart however. Were this to happen, we could witness,(for a short time) maybe three days what happened to Noah.
Sumerian cosmology states this is what happened to the Annunaki or nefilim.
There are passages in the Sumerian Epic of Creation which indicate the Annunaki looked at the southern sky and saw a large black cloud forming, it became dark and rain began to fall in sheets. Great storms began to form. They also mention the waves began to take the shape of mountains. This could explain the coastal flooding and possibly the earth losing equilibrium and changing the rotation of the axis.
