: No Constitutional Crisis?

Was this political disaster caused by simple incompetence, by

an exceptionally poorly designed ballot or by a last-ditch effort

by the Bush campaign-his brother Jeb is Governor of Florida-to

fix an election he was losing?

You fail to remember that Bush was ahead in the Popular Vote in Florida, at the time the Media called it for Gore. With 2% of the votes counted. At 7:49 EST (4:49 PST) Florida was called for Gore. The Media at that time stated that Bush could not Win, No matter what Bush did he could not win.
How many Voters on the West Coast, just getting off work, on thier way to vote, didn't go because of this announcment?
No one will ever know.
Then at about 10:00 EST Florida was called 'to close to call'. The voters who did not vote on the west coast, could not vote now because the Polls were closing, it was 7:00 PST.
Is this coincidence? I think not
