Consulting my sources I have indicated that the Julian calendar had 365.25 days and I entered that into the equation: this may be wrong, patently wrong, as the new or modern calendar was created and necessarily updated to include the 1/4 day per annum, which meant that there are now twelve days difference between the old style and the new style of calculating time, with all of the holidays being some twelve days different between the "Orthodox" Christian calendar and the modern one.

I believe that significant change in the Julian calendar may have been the adoption of the 365 day per year calculation, moving from the older Egyptian or Ptolemaic year of 364 days.

Please forgive my error, perhaps another Agent can nail this one down for us all and correct my errors regarding the calendar.

In any event, the significant factors are the cycles of metals transformation and the steady advance of technologies based on the use of metals, wood, fabric for sails and navigational methods which allowed precise planning for long sea voyages.

The 22 and 1/2 year cycle holds through modern history but its value is lessened when going back in time, because it is difficult for us to calculate social changes which happened so very long ago, and about which even most educated people are wholly uninformed.

Walking backwards from this year of 2000 is useful, however, if only because so very many people who have real power and who are intent on using it for their own purposes think that there is now, or are going to be created soon, important points where leverage may be applied.

If the present cycle of metals reclaiming and reusage does end in 2012, then the date of equality in rights between plebians and patricians in Rome -- 287 B.C., is only twenty-five years off from the beginning of these 450 year cycles in about 262 B.C. -- or quite close to one additional 22 and 1/2 year cycle.

If the date to be concerned about is 2000, then the critical year of completion for 101 of these cycles is mid-way through 272 B.C., or only 2/3rds of one cycle off (i.e. fifteen years).

Many prominent scholars have also looked at the eleven year sunspot cycles (again, the timespan is somewhat fluid), but here there is no way of knowing whether they are a part of recent history or whether such fluctuations in sunshine and magnetism are a constant over the centuries.

A useful exercise for a person with a graphics program would be to chart the known perambulations and phases of world-wide weather, and chart "hot spells" vs. miniature ice ages, and then to lay over that these 450 year-long eras of development.
