Belarus will give at no cost to Serbia air defense missile systems (AAD) of "Buk" type and aircrafts "mig 29" wile Serbia will pay for their repairs and modernization, said the "Policy" Minister of Defence Zoran Djordjevic after his return from Minsk.

Djordjevic stressed that this very important agreement for Serbia between Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko occurred during the visit of the delegation of the Government of Serbia at Minsk.

It includes two divisions of the "Buk" system and eight "Migs 29" that should be delivered to Serbia over the next year, by what will, together with the Russian donation of "Migs 29" on a similar principle, domestic air defense system, of which are the backbone the rocket systems and fighter aviation, be significantly improved and modernized.

- Belarus since the Soviet times, has a well developed optoelectronics and electronics. Not only they have kept this technologies, but they have developed them further. Their trucks and construction equipment could be interesting for the Army of Serbia, possible cooperation with FAP - said Đorđević.

The minister said that there is a large space for cooperation when it comes to repairs and modernization of various weapons systems of Russian origin.

On the other hand, they are interested in rocket fuel and some other products of our defense industry. Also shown is an initiative for the establishment of joint Serbian-Belarusian companies in the defense industry for the joint appearance on third markets, and to more prestigious ones such as Russia and the EU countries, explains Djordjevic.

He points out that the details of military cooperation between Serbia and Belarus will be negotiated from May, when the is envisages the establishment of a joint body for cooperation in the field of defense, such as already exist when it comes to cooperation with other countries.

Because of that, the Minister of Defense, at this time, was unable to comment how much it would cost to Serbia the overhaul and modernization of "Buks" and "Migs 29."

- With Belarus and we'll talk about the purchase of the famous S-300 system, it's versions S-300 V and S-300 PG in their possession. They are and will be the topic of our conversation, but whether they will be in the armaments of the Serbian Military depends on further detailed analysis and agreements - said Đorđević.

When it comes to donation of Russian military hardware, Djordjevic expects that six, "Mig 29" will soon be at the airport in Batajnica.

- All contracts are signed, I expect that the planes will be in March at the latest in April at the Aeronautical Repair Institute "Moma Stanojlović'. Russian experts will do at us their overhaul and modernization, with the support of our experts - the minister added.

When it comes to the delivery of tanks and armored reconnaissance vehicles they will be delivered when the Russian side decides.
This donation is indisputable and unlike for airplanes their overhaul and modernization will be not needed, "said Djordjevic.
