An architect who has with her organic architecture, moved the frontiers of modern design died today at age 65 in a hospital in Miami, where she was treated for bronchitis.

Born in 1950 in Baghdad, Zaha Hadid initially studied mathematics at the American University in Beirut, and then decided to study architecture in London, where she graduated in 1977.
