For those unfamiliar with this case, here is an outline of what is currently alleged to have happened

18-year-old male college student befriends online a 13-year-old female middle school student and begins an inappropriate relationship with her.

13-y.o. girl sounds like she may expose the relationship.

18-y.o. college student interests 19-year-old female college student acquaintance (apparently they are not romantically involved) in helping him murder the 13-y.o. girl to keep her quiet.

The 2 college students meet in a restaurant and plan the murder. He will entice the 13-y.o. to sneak out at night and meet him, and then take her to a remote location and slit her throat, and then the 19-y.o. accomplice will help him dispose of the body.

The plan is carried out.

All involved have left a social media and cell data trail a mile wide and the alleged murderers are rapidly caught.

Following are two recent articles of the many that have appeared in my area on this case. The details above are what has been presented so far by the authorities. The second article discusses the puzzling involvement of the 19-year-old girl, who apparently had no motive other than that it would be an exciting thing to do, according to official statements. This would seem to indicate that a moral sense of right and wrong has been replaced with a sensational spectrum of exciting to boring, without any feeling that some things should not be done. It is of note that the two college students were doing reasonably well in school and had apparently shown no signs that they were capable of such behavior in the past, having come from typical American middle-class families.

Oh, by the way, the 19-y.o. girl was on Prozac.
