Report States Young Mother Was Left to Die After Drunken Crash - follow-up

Injured Girl Left to Die in Ditch in Freezing Dark

I have a nose for trouble and this story of the tragic death of 22-year-old Jaclyn Proctor on which I based the safety bulletin has turned into a nightmare of an investigation! According to report(s) this mother was apparently thrown through the windshield in the crash and left to die in the ditch by the driver who is now in custody under heavy bond.

Thanks to the local media and big hats this time for finally getting this report out. It took the Rochelle fire department personnel to actually go out to the crash site and find Jaclyn's bloodied body. Some of her hair and tissue were reportedly still lodged in the driver's windshield where the hole was that she was ejected through!

I cannot tell you the reprehensible disgust I feel over this situation of leaving this injured girl to die out there in the freezing dark. At least he could have held her hand, etc., and stayed with her and summoned help if he was able to drive back to his home. Awful!

Now I am wondering if there's even more to this story ... like maybe they were being chased.

: and horns. Failure to do so could cost your life or the
: lives of your passengers.

: The happy trip and visiting with others could all come to a
: crashing halt, folks, if you aren't careful, particularly
: in winter driving conditions. I have seen it so slick and
: dangerous out there that the wind literally pushed my
: vehicle off the road into the ditch. You don't have to
: commit driver error to experience such an accident, so if
: road conditions are very bad the best thing to do is don't
: drive anywhere at all if possible. Also, if you are very
: tired there can be a tendency to nod off behind the wheel,
: so try to get a designated driver to drive you if you are
: fatigued.

: As hard as it is to concentrate on driving sometimes, you have
: to absolutely insist on keeping your mind sharp, alert and
