Les Coleman Continues to Need Your Help!

When a government employee crosses the "line" and starts speaking the truth, in the eyes of the government, he is not a hero, he is a liability that must be contained.

When an individual takes on the entire power of the United States government, they are usually crushed. There are a few former government agents who have won their battles and been freed -- Richard Brenekke, Chip Tatum, Gunther Russbacher, Congressman George Hansen -- Each one of these men had massive citizen support behind them.

Without support, through letters, emails, faxes and money, these men would still be in prison.

The trial of the Libyans who are charged with bombing Pan Am 103 begins May 3rd. Les Coleman is one of the major witnesses. He will not be able to go because he is in prison. Even if he does go, the convoluted way in which our government "set him up", will be too difficult to explain to a jury.

Why is it important for the jury to understand what happened to Les Coleman? Because if they think Les is a common criminal, his testimony will not be believed. If they realize the United States government has purposely charged him with crimes to discredit him and keep him from testifying at the trial, they will listen more closely to what he has to say.

Today I have ato do something that I really hate doing. That is asking for money. Mike Meehan, Les Coleman's pro bono lawyer, is under immense pressure, attempting to appeal Les Coleman's "possession of forged documents" conviction — without funds. He has told me that "there are no pro bono funds available."

Mike is acting in Les's behalf for free, and it's his intention to do a thorough job so that Lester may be released (from MDC) pending the outcome of the appeal.

Remember that the sole reason Les is now in prison is because the Lexington conviction constitutes a violation of his "supervised release" probation, as specified by Judge Platt. This is a common practice in silencing whistle blowers.

Doretta has offered to set up a fund for Les in the future and act as treasurer. For now, however, the funds are needed asap, and I feel it's best to send them directly to Mike in Kentucky — particularly since some of those funds are likely to come from overseas.

Don't think that five or ten dollars is too little to send. If 20 people send $10.00, that is enough to file the appeal in Kentucky. Anything left over will go for filing the other appeals that will need to be filed.
