One of the things that I try to do, because I have been there, is alert people as to how the government feeds the media disinformation and outright lies about a whistle blower.

The media airs or prints the information, as received from the government, without fact checking.

This smears the whistle blower, therefore anything he or she says, can be easily dismissed and discredited.

In Clintonian Speak -- this method of neutralizing your opponent is called, "the demonization of your enemy". We are currently seeing this method of neutralization being used on Elian's Miami relatives. This method is better than the alternative -- which is killing the opponent.

I have seen these attack and smear tactics applied to every whistle blower I have ever known.

Attack, smear, discredit and disqualify are the reasons for the attacks.

At the moment, Les Coleman is being attacked and smeared by the State Department because current Unites States policies are trying to create a new relationship with Iran. If Coleman's version of the Lockerbie bombing is correct, then Iran is to blame, not Lybians.

Already, Coleman's "criminal record" makes him look like a repeat felon. People with criminal records do not make credible witnesses. Our government is counting on this to keep the lawyers from calling Coleman to testify.
