Science Applications own Network Solutions. Science aplication started in 1971 by Bob Byster a spinn off from Gulf General Atomic.

This is a private company and wholly owned by its employees. There first Government contracts came from The Defense Nuclear Agency. This company made their money by doing allot of computer simulations.

Years ago, I had an opportunity to join SAI, I would have been the tenth member of the group which is now over 20,000 employees; instead I choose to go to Wayne state University's Engineering Research Institute. Byster visited me from california and wanted me to join but I refused...I am smiling today, bad move on my part, but happy for Bob.

For the folks here, this company worked primarily for the DoD ---remember the internet came from ARPA so they were at the right place and at the right time.

A little note about Byster, he is a very hard worker and "cares about his employees"...that why the company is private..he didnt want the jerks on wall st to rape science applications.
