I wonder, if after Trump is done, there will be room on Mount Rushmore? Maybe they'll have to start a new mountain.

CONFESSIONS OF A CONGRESSIONAL STAFFER: “Trump Is A Political Genius. FULL STOP.”
Posted on March 8, 2018 by DCWhispers
The following are the insights and opinions of a former senior congressional staffer who is now enjoying what he calls the “…happy uncertainty of a self-imposed semi-retirement.” He spent nearly eleven years working on Capitol Hill, arriving there shortly before Barack Obama became president, and then leaving shortly after Donald Trump succeeded him. His extended family’s ties to prior administrations goes back decades – at the highest levels. Now approaching middle-age, (ancient by D.C. staffer standards) and despite all that time in the belly of the “D.C. beast” he still manages to look younger than his years. He’s quick to laugh, slow to anger, and enjoys the occasional (and most often inappropriate) joke while also being an occasional (and always highly valued) D.C. Whispers’ source. His contact list is an impressive whos-who of D.C. power players (a benefit of his political pedigree of which he readily admits he had nothing to do with) including both active and retired politicians, staffers, and (too many) lobbyists. (He feels most lobbyists are decent people working in what he calls an epically f*cked up system.) He has attended two inauguration balls, four Congressional retreats, (to which he says members of Congress drink – a lot) and seven State of the Union addresses.
He’s also good friends with a since-departed network news/entertainment television talent who has been more than willing of late to spill the goods on any number of subjects and says he might be convinced to share some of those stories here as well.
First and foremost, though, is his deepening concern over what is taking place in the city he used to call home, Washington D.C., and the country he loves – America.
“Donald Trump is a political genius. FULL STOP. In the days after his steel and aluminum tariff announcement, I’m told union leadership in this country have been inundated with messages of support for Trump from their members. Think about it. All those crucial Midwest swing states are becoming “Trump Country” as he fights to save the Rust Belt. And he did this within weeks of people seeing more money in their paychecks following the Trump tax cuts.
It’s why we have senior Democrat politicians reaching out to the President now. They have no choice. Their state voters demand it. Donald Trump is much more popular among the Working Class than what is being told to us by the media. THEY LOVE HIM. Senator Sherrod Brown, a Democrat, knows this. Ohio voters want him to work with Trump and that’s what Brown is doing. Brown is a big union guy. The unions are telling him to get behind Trump because Trump appears all in for fighting for the union workers. It’s another type of Reagan Democrat phenomena that made Reagan so popular – far more popular than the media back then was portraying him as being. Trump is creating more and more “Trump Democrats” by the hour.
The Establishment wing of the Republican Party is upset because they’ve been doing very well for themselves doing the bidding of their corporate masters. They’ve thrown some big-time tantrums, sent the President a letter begging him to reconsider his tariff position, and are back to scheming on ways to damage him politically. All those leaks coming out of the Mueller investigation? At least half are Republican-originated.
Trump shrugs it off. He holds the line. He keeps winning.
It’s the most remarkable political show I’ve ever seen.
