The article says that there are not enough particles in the universe to “simulate” a universe with quantum effects. They are wrong because the universe itself is a quantum computer, composed of the virtual particle quantum foam of which space itself is made. Empty space actually contains a huge amount of energy in the form of this quantum foam, so much so that 99.99999...% (unknown number of 9’s) of the energy content in the universe is in the empty space. The matter we see and that our bodies are composed of is actually a neglible component of the universe energy-wise, but is the “output” of the “program” that is “running” in the quantum foam. It is the uncertainty feature of the quantum processes that allows for Free Will (Consciousness). Thus you have the Computer, Software, and User as a single integral system.

The above discussion is not meant to imply a godless universe, or that the universe itself is God, despite my gratuitous capitalization. The universe is Divine in having been created by God, perhaps as one of an infinite number of such universes, as is implied in the Many Worlds interpretation of quantum reality.
