Electricity in Space! Part II #7. The Bullets Series
The Helix Bullets detail photo ; the Orion Bullets detail photo ; NGC 6543 Cat's Eye ; NGC 6751 Blue Eye ; NGC 6369 Green Eye ; NGC 2392 Eskimo ; NGC 3132.
The Helix 'Bullets' and Orion 'Bullet Pillars', have great debate over how they formed, why they have 'tails' streaming behind them, and how they have changed, and will change, over an extended time frame.
In the Cat's Eye, Blue Eye, Green Eye, Eskimo and NGC 3132 ; their 'Cometary Knots' and larger structures look to be in the early stages of forming, although, they might equally be in the later stages of their dissolution or dissipation ! We have so much to learn !! What can we learn from these five SGZs for how these 'Knots' or 'Tadpoles' formed ?

Explanation: Only 450 light-years from Earth, in the Helix's gaseous envelope, the Hubble Space Telescope astronomers discovered indications of 100's of striking "Cometary Knots" like these, so called because of their resemblance to comets, but they are actually hugely much larger - their heads are several Billion miles across, roughly the size of the our solar system itself !!, while their tails pointing radially away from the central stellar object star, stretch over 100 Billion miles ! Previously known from ground based observations, the sheer number of cometary knots found in this single nebula is astonishing. What caused them to form ? Are they being 'drawn' toward the central object ? Is 'radiant pressure' from the central object causing the 'tails' to form ? What is really going on here ??

Explanation: Why do Bullets of material appear to be 'shooting out' of the Orion Nebula ? Nobody is quite sure. First discovered in 1983, each Bullet is actually about triple the size of our Solar System, and moving at about 300 km/sec from a central source dubbed IRc2. The age of the bullets, which might be deduced from their speed (100-400 km/sec) and distance from IRc2, indicates youth -- typically less than 1,000 years. As the Bullets rip through the interior of the Orion Nebula, a small percentage of singly ionized iron atoms (FeII) causes the tip of each bullet to glow Blue, while each Bullet leaves a Tubular Pillar that glows by the light of molecular hydrogen atoms (H2) in Orange. Pictured above, the Orion Bullets were captured in unprecedented detail by the adaptive optics technology of the Gemini North Telescope. M42, the Orion Nebula, is the closest major star forming region to us, and is filled with dust, gas, plasma, and bright stars. The Orion Nebula is only about 1,500 light years away, and can be seen with the unaided eye toward the constellation of Orion, though binoculars do help.
So, why are these 'Bullets' moving at such great velocities ? How did they originate into the shapes that they have, and to express the morphology they are showing ? ; that of having their 'trailing clouds' moving along with them at almost the same velocity ! , and not being 'clouds of dust' that linger in a 'stationary past' while the 'causative object' speeds off into the distance, like a bullet fired from a gun here on Earth, and one that leaves its 'gunpowder cloud' somewhat 'stationary' near the 'gun barrel'. The Orion Bullets are not like earthly 'bullets' at all !! But their 'moniker' lives on !! Yet these Bullets are still very unexplained for having an originating "point of origin Event" ! Actually they aren't 'bullets' at all. They are clearly being accelerated by the large electric field in which they are all immersed. But why this powerful, and large electric field is present, is also a mystery to those whose "different interpretation of events that are occurring here", still remains an open question for everyone !

Explanation: The Cat's Eye Nebula, NGC 6543, is one of the best known planetary nebulae in the sky. Its haunting symmetries are seen in the very central region of this stunning false-color picture, processed to reveal the enormous surrounding structure of its extremely faint gaseous material halo, with what are likely ancient 'bullets' and 'knots' in dissolution from age, and which is over three light-years across in size !!!, and which surrounds the brighter, familiar, and very much smaller central region that is much more well known. Made here with data from the Nordic Optical Telescope in the Canary Islands, this composite picture shows emission from nitrogen atoms as red, and oxygen atoms as green and blue shades.
Planetary nebulae have long been considered by Mainstream as the final phase in the life of a Sun-like star, however, newer conjectures dispute that assessment vigorously !! While the Mainstream planetary nebula phase is thought to last for around 10,000 years, astronomers estimate the age of the outer filamentary portions of this halo to be 50,000 to 90,000 years of age !!

Mainstream's (Incorrect in its Sun Death-Throes theory) Explanation: Staring across interstellar space, the alluring Cat's Eye nebula lies about 3,000 light-years from Earth. A classic planetary nebula, the Cat's Eye represents a final, brief yet glorious phase in the life of a Sun-like star. This nebula's dying central star may have produced the simple, outer pattern of dusty concentric shells by shrugging off outer layers in a series of regular convulsions. But the formation of the beautiful, more complex inner structures is not well understood. Seen so clearly in this sharp Hubble Space Telescope image of the very complex inner structure, this truly cosmic eye is over half a light-year across ! Of course, gazing into the Cat's Eye, astronomers may well be seeing the fate of our Sun, destined to enter its own planetary nebula phase of evolution ... in about 5 billion years.
Well, Mainstream is certainly entitled to its 'opinion'. However !!, more recent understandings express the concept of a Z-Pinch phenomena as the impetus for the Cat's Eye's initial formation processes, that said, what caused the Z-Pinch to originate in the first place is still not yet understood well enough, though the subsequent actions that formed the existing observed structures does follow logically as per our understandings of how electric currents, magnetic fields, and their interactions with plasmas and non-plasmatic materials does account for the Cat's Eye's structures.
Yes, there is electricity in space ! and it is responsible for most of what we observe out there ! but as to why electric currents desire to move from place to place is not well understood, and for what causes the 'charge separation' to begin with over large distance, and which has the results of electric currents being prompted to seek long distance 'equalization' behaviors. And by 'long distance' I mean 1,000's of light years in distance ! even 10's of 1,000's of light years in distance !! Yes, Electric Currents are what keep the Universe "Alive" !! "Alive" !!!
Yes ! Dr. Frankenstein was very correct about Electricity being the impetus, causation, and the very 'spark' that initiates Life !!!

NGC 6751: The Glowing Blue Eye Nebula

Explanation: Planetary nebulae can look simple, round, and planet-like in small early telescopes. But images from the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope have become well known for showing that these fluorescent gas shrouds possess a staggering variety of detailed symmetries and shapes. This composite color Hubble image of NGC 6751, the Glowing Blue Eye Nebula, is a beautiful example of a classic planetary nebula with complex features. It was selected in April of 2000 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Hubble in orbit, and was reprocessed recently as part of the Hubble Legacy program. Radiations from the intensely hot central-stellar-object (140,000 degrees Celsius) have apparently created this nebula's streamer-like features. The nebula's actual diameter is approximately 0.8 light-years or about 600 times the size of our Solar System !! NGC 6751 is 6,500 light-years distant in the high-flying constellation of the Eagle Nebula (Aquila).

NGC 6369: The Little Ghost Green Eye Nebula

Explanation: Wraith-like NGC 6369 is a faint apparition in night skies popularly known as the Little Ghost Nebula. It was discovered by 18th century astronomer Sir William Herschel as he used a telescope to explore the medicinal constellation Ophiucus. Herschel historically classified the round and planet-shaped nebula as a Planetary Nebula. But planetary nebulae in general are not at all related to planets. Instead they are the gaseous and plasmatic shrouds created during the expansive phase when the outer layers of the central object are expanding into space while its core shrinks to become a very hot white dwarf star. The transformed white dwarf star, seen near the center, radiates strongly at ultraviolet wavelengths and powers the expanding nebula's radiant glow. Surprisingly complex details and structures of NGC 6369 are revealed in this tantalizing image composed from Hubble Space Telescope data. The nebula's main round structure is about a light-year across and the glow from ionized oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen atoms are colored blue, green, and red, respectively. Over 2,000 light-years away, the Little Ghost Nebula offers a glimpse into the possible fate of our Sun should a powerful Z-Pinch electric current decide to 'visit' here, and which would then produce a planetary nebula, if that ever happens here.

NGC 2392 the Eskimo Nebula
Explanation: To some, this huge nebula resembles a person's head surrounded by a parka hood. In 1787, astronomer William Herschel discovered this unusual planetary nebula: NGC 2392. More recently, the Hubble Space Telescope imaged the nebula in visible light. The featured image of this nebula shows gas clouds so complex they are not fully understood. NGC 2392 is a double-shelled planetary nebula, with the more distant gas having composed the outer layers perhaps 10,000 years ago. The outer shell contains unusual light-year long orange filaments. The inner filaments visible are being ejected by a suspected strong wind of particles from the central star. The NGC 2392 Nebula spans about 1/3 of a light year and is only about 3,000 light years distant, toward the constellation of the Twins (Gemini).

NGC 3132: The Eight Burst Nebula or Southern Ring Nebula

Explanation: It's the very small dimmer star that is actually this nebula's central stellar object, not the bright one which is a foreground local star to us. Nicknamed the Eight-Burst Nebula or Southern Ring Nebula in this representative false-color picture, the hot blue-green pool of light in the central cavity's gas/plasma material is being energized from the hot surface of the apparently small central stellar object, but it's the unusual symmetries, and the asymmetries that help make this planetary nebula so intriguing. Neither the unusual non-circular shape of the surrounding cooler complex shell with suspicious Bullets, Knots or Tadpoles that are either beginning to form or are in long-term dissolution; nor the structure and placement of the cooler filamentary dust lanes running across NGC 3132; these are both not even beginning to be understood, and that adds to the beauty of this iconic exposition of how the primary forces in Nature and Physics interplay to create such an enormous structure for us to contemplate the origins thereof, and the beauty it expresses so succinctly.

Webb's Southern Ring Nebula

Explanation: Some 2,500 light-years from Earth, composed of gas, glowing plasma, and dust; this stunning cosmic landscape is nearly half a light-year in diameter, and is explored in unprecedented detail by the James Webb Space Telescope in the InfraRed wavelengths of the EM Spectrum. In this NIRCam image the very bright star near the center is actually the 'companion object' of the very small central stellar object which does not show in the InfraRed spectum as it is so hot ! (likewise, the foreground star close to us, in the first photo above, also does not show in the IR spectrum of Webb). In mutual orbit, the original central star whose transformation has ejected the nebula's gas and dust shells over thousands of years, is the non-imaged fainter stellar partner, in whose evolving to become a hot white dwarf star in this InfraRed wavelength image, is the very faint central stellar object, and it just barely appears along the upper left side of the diffraction spike extending upward at the One O'clock position, due to its excessive lack of IR spectrum radiations. This stellar pair's orbital motions, is thought to have, by their complexity, resulted in the asymmetric complex structure of the outermost shell of this Nebula.
Actually, in "new-speak", an excessive electrical energy input from an arriving induced Z-Pinch electrical event, caused the central-stellar-object to 'split into two pieces' in order to reduce the 'electric energy input to the total stellar surface' to an acceptable level of arrival, and it does so by increasing the 'total surface area' !! This is done by splitting into two pieces ! thusly greatly increasing the 'total surface area' that the arriving energy could then 'impact' ! This is the new Theory of how 'objects' behave when they suddenly receive a dramatic increase in 'arriving energy' ! They 'split' into two or more 'pieces', and this is the new Theory for how 'double star systems' originate, and 'multiple star systems' originate ! Yes, up to five stars in a multiple-star-system have been observed ! Because, in a 'gravity only' Universe, gravitational action does NOT result in a 'mutual orbiting society' when two or more 'objects' interact ! Gravity more than 99.9% of the time 'throws object apart' ! and Not into a 'mutual orbiting society' !! And we have observed dramatically more multiple star systems than can ever be successfully accounted for by a "gravity only interaction" !
Yes, 3132 is the first planetary nebula that really got my attention !, as it is so beautiful in its false color central cavity imagery, and by its seeming simplicity of expression. I would love to go there and sail thru the central cavity to experience what is really happening there !!, and to understand why !!
