“DEAD CHILDREN DON’T CRY” – From the Speech of the Mobster Boss

In a mythical world of mobster kingdoms, what one boss says is the rule of law for his subjects and henchmen. But to the other mobster bosses that rule their own territories, what one mobster boss says is questioned, and often questioned by the end of a gun.
Each mobster territory is ruled by their own current territorial limits, which are subject to change at times. However, they usually maintain their own territories within limits, to avoid the bloodshed that would occur if they infringe on another mob bosses area of control. In this way order was established.

In each territory there are henchmen that obey orders, inflict pain on those that get out of line - and then come back to their homes in the suburbs each night where they have normal families like a wife and children.
Those subjects and families that choose to move into a new territory may work and live as normal citizens, and obey the rules that are set up by the hierarchy of the power structure, but they never see the mechanics on how the territory is governed, or the pain and suffering that’s meted out against those that don’t follow the rules.

In the broad spectrum of the mobster kingdom there could be thousands of residents that have to be dealt with to keep them in line, and that means the henchmen must kill the rebellious citizens to teach the rest a lesson and to bow the knee to mobster’s rule or suffer death.

When those killings are carried out the children of the surviving families will cry… and those cries are then heard by the other residence. And this causes doubt and the risk of widespread discontent. When this reaches the mobster boss he makes a speech to his henchmen and the citizens that are under his control.
This speech is mandatory listening and is blasted across the mobster territory with loud speakers. The mob boss then speaks to his subjects:
“I have been ruling this territory for 20 years, and it is imperative that everyone realizes how important it is that we have obedience from every citizen or else our way of life will be destroyed. Each worker, whether they are a baker, a mechanic, a teacher or a store owner, must not question the authority of your leaders and the absolute power I possess.
I have heard a terrible rumor of those complaining when bad actors have questioned our authority when they heard the crying of the children. We must make examples of those that stray from the path of loyalty and that entertain thoughts of rebellion and resistance. Hear me when I say, that this is blatant disloyalty, and is a cancer that must be rooted out! It can spread like a disease and cause discontent, which will lead to other mob bosses to think we are weak - and they will come in and destroy us all!

Let me be very clear, when anyone is weak enough to be moved by the crying of children, you are exercising a dangerous behavior of insubordination that can lead to the very destruction of our lifestyles. We must be strong against the tears of children! We must resist the evil temptation of being weak! The truth is my friends, I have a brilliant solution for this problem, the best way to deal with this weakness is to kill the crying children once and for all, because Dead Children Don’t Cry!
Because of this infectious disease of rebellion, I'm ordering my men to go out and kill any of the crying children to root out this evil, once and for all - so our beloved territory can again be prosperous in our drug running, prostitution and all of our briberies, labor incomes and various taxes to maintian our safe and perfect lifestyles.” End of the mobster’s speech to his subjects.

And so it was, that the mobster’s henchman left their families each day and went out to kill any children that were heard crying. The subjects of the territory were watched closely and microphones were in place in the neighborhoods to monitor any crying in the mobster boss’s territory.
And, any child that was heard crying or reported to have been crying were rounded up, and thrown into shallow graves and shot in the head, then their bodies covered up with big tracked dozers. The area was also locked down so no families could leave to migrate to another territory - which would weaken the power of their mobster's rule.

As it has been many times before, another citizens' rebellion was stopped and the people learned to be subserviant to the boss’s rule, and the henchman and their families, and the shop owner, and the carpenter, the plumber, and the teacher all learned to be happy in their territory and even bragged to the world that their mobster territory was superior to all others, and that anyone that doubted this obvious truth should be killed - for the greater good. After all, Dead Children Don’t Cry.
