CGI's Morgan: Should Men Be in Control of Women, or Does a 50/50 Arrangement Work Better?
Are Women Better Off Under Men’s Leadership or In a 50/50 Arrangement?
What does equality mean? Who determines what is or isn't equal? Why have marriages existed in various cultures even before they encountered one another? Are cultures that enshrine equality in law and practice better off than those that do not?
Many African cultures are patriarchal, and in these societies, divorces and replacement birth rates are positive. In contrast, in cultures where equality is accepted as the norm, both divorce rates and replacement birth rates tend to be negative. Why is this the case? Is there a correlation, causation, or is it simply a coincidence?
Data shows that even in cultures where equality is prevalent, men often contribute more to the economy than women, and both genders tend to adhere to traditional roles. In this video, I explored the stereotypes and common arguments surrounding the debate over equality.

OF COURSE WE SHOULD ALL KNOW WHERE I STAND ON THIS. MY COMMENT WAS:
Depends on priorities. I like total self-sovereignty, and not being beholden to anyone. Most of my life I've made more than enough to support myself, and in my heyday I made a lot due to heavy overtime. I also like a low obligation life so I got sterilised when I was 19, since the way I saw it is I have a life to live, and I wasn't going to throw it away on a perpetually inconvenient, parasitic 18 year gaol sentence. I also rescued my 'pet' noncommercial 'starving musician' about 32 years ago from severe poverty and considering the health issues he's had, saved his life by taking him on. I don't make as much as I used to in my olde age, but I still make way more than him being he is now retired and getting a rather low Social Security amount, and though I suppose I could hold it over his head, I don't. He's totally free-range, and we work together to make our collective lives easier. Our arrangement is kinda 50/50. We don't order each other around, and we both do what we want, when we want. We have no legal obligation to each other, but only self-imposed moral obligations. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I was married before him and getting a divorce when we met. I 'adopted' one of the smartest and foxiest dudes I met in high school, and rescued him from an abusive home, put him through his first 3 years of college, but in the end it didn't work out too well. He did end up making more than me, but I still paid most of the bills. We also had a few fights in the beginning, which I ended when I picked up one of my swords and threatened to swat him with it. He backed down, or I would have sent him to the hospital or the morgue. I was pissed enough to not care about consequences at the time. No more fights after that. I don't take that rubbish, and he knew it. And even now, home defence is my field. I'm half the man I never was, but I'm 6 years younger, move faster than my current flat mate, not to mention I'm now a dishwasher (Lots of heavy lifting.) who used to work out to my limit so I'm a bit stronger, not to mention a bit more berserker, so. . .
I know I defy the average, but I think the way societies have us trained sucks. I'm not a fan of hypergamous, vapid, vain, entitled fluff heads who think all they have to do is look pretty enough to hook a host into supporting them and their sprog (Which I see as nothing but a liability.) for the rest of their lives. There's a word for that. Anyway, I do not see a high birth rate as necessarily being an indication of a successful society, especially when the standard of living is low enough that you might start looking at your neighbour as being good pot roast material.
I must also say, like you mentioned; for the most part which economies do better? The ones where chicks are allowed to dictate their own lives, or where they have no choice in how to live? Hey, they do have the 4B movement in South Korea, and it seems to be spreading. I was taught from a young age, the only one you can depend on is yourself, and that's how it's been for 45 of my 64 years on this planet, minus 3 months where I was between jobs and my rocker soul mate actually kept us going. I'd consider the alternative a nightmare worse than death.
(Add on for this post. Shoulda said worse than 'life', but if ya don't know me, ya wouldn't get it.)
