"This has demonstrated we can CHOKE OFF China's oil — [at] any time that we WANT," the congressman said; and highlighted that "we now have Venezuelan oil ... under our control. And that Iranian oil we can stop at any time we want. And that accounts for a huge percentage of China's oil imports. And so China has two weaknesses, one is energy, [and] the second one is food. Both of them are vulnerable to our (the United States) blockades, etc. And so now China is looking at that and saying, well, 'we have cards to play if they do that in the South China Sea' [and] we (the US) have other cards to play that will hurt them (China) also."
