Political actors and pundits use and misuse language for their own purposes with reckless abandon. Mark Levine says Tucker Carlson is an antisemite because he disagrees with America’s support of Israel! Alex Jones claims that Adolf Hitler was a Zionist! Jeffrey Prather claims that the real antisemites are the Jews because they don’t accept Jesus as their lord and savior…because the real Jews are the Christians! Tucker Carlson claims that Jews can’t claim to be Zionists because most Jews in the world don’t have semitic DNA! The ADL claims that anyone who breaths a word disagreeing with anything Israel does is a rabid antisemite and should be arrested! It goes on and on…everyone no matter their place on the political spectrum is misusing antisemitism and Zionism to serve their own polemic purposes and none of it has to do with the Jewish people themselves. Let’s get some things straight for once…

First of all, the word “antisemite” is a complete and utter distortion of the use of language. Taken apart, the word means “against a person of Semitic decent” as in, “I hate Semites” just as one would say “I hate blacks.” I don’t know who first posited that the best way to say, “I hate Jews” is to say “I am antisemitic” and I really don’t care. If one argues that the Jews are a race, Semites, rather than a group of people of varied ethnic backgrounds who believe in Judaism as a religious belief system, mustn’t they logically apply this same argument to all three Abrahamic religions? The first Christians (including Jesus himself) were Semites as were the first Muslims (including of course Mohammed himself). How come people who hate Christians and people who hate Muslims are not considered to be antisemites? So let’s throw out the word “antisemite” and replace it with “Jew hater” and the word “antisemitism” with the words “hatred of Jews.” It’s just so much more honest and forces people who really hate Jews to declare it with unimpeachable clarity. It also forces those who accuse others of hating Jews to similarly declare what they really mean to say about those people…they’re Jew haters!

The same goes with the words “Zionist” and “Zionism.” Really Alex, Hitler was a Zionist? What exactly is a Zionist…a Zionist is a Jewish person (generally) who wishes for the Jewish people to have a homeland where Jewish people can live comfortably without restriction or prejudice, practice their religion in peace, and self-determine their lives and the ways of their society. Pretty innocuous in my estimation…sounds like just about the desire of most people on earth. “Zionism” is the amalgamation of those desires into a movement paradigm. Hey Alex, does that sound like something that Hitler wanted for the Jews? I don’t think so.

Anyway, the pundits on the right and left have taken Zionism as defined above and redefined it into two things: 1. support in any way, shape, or form of the policies and actions of the secular nation-state called Israel; and, 2. support of the belief that the secular nation-state, Israel, is actually Israel, the Holy Land, as described in the Torah, aka “The Old Testament.” Zionism is defined by the pundits as belief that the existence of the of the present Israel is somehow the basis of the coming of the messiah for Judaism, the redemption of the Jewish people, and the ultimate building of the Third (and final) Temple; and, the Second Coming of Christ after much tribulation as described in “The New Testament.” Those who take this second definition conflated with the Second Coming are called “Christian Zionists” and are generally evangelicals.

So, what do we have here? All these politicians and pundits on the right and left who are railing against those who are called antisemites who are railing against antisemites while refusing to admit that they are antisemites while refusing to admit what an antisemite really is, which is really an anti-Zionist? Then you have the people who call themselves anti-Zionists but not antisemites railing against the Zionists who are railing against the anti-Zionists who they say are really antisemites even though they rail against Christian Zionists who don’t really believe in real Zionism. Confused?

No need for confusion. No need to be confused…just look beyond the words that these politicians and pundits are using and look intently at the people using these words. The ADL is a far left organization with deep Deep State ties that is using its antisemitism accusations against anyone who criticizes Israel to create division in society…to pit Christians against Jews as part of the overall divide and conquer modus operandi of the left.

People like Tucker Carlson are using anti-Zionistic rhetoric as a way of characterizing the policies of the United States as Israel first rather than America first regardless of the fact that Israel is a proxy and client of the USA, not the other way around. Alex Jones is using anti-Zionistic rhetoric and references to Hitler as a Zionist as a way of delegitimizing Donald Trump’s actions towards Iran. This is much like Tucker Carlson contending that Trump is a confirmed Zionist acting only in the interests of Israel and that Iran never did anything or is trying to do anything (in terms of nuclear weapons and related delivery systems) that in any way threatens the USA. Jeffrey Prather just considers the Jewish religion to be illegitimate altogether, something that is now becoming a popular trope among alt-right pundits…that Christianity has succeeded to whatever covenants the Israelites of old made with God and that Judaism is now just a husk of a religion that has been abandoned by God. If antisemitism is to be truly defined as hatred of Judaism, then this idea that Judaism isn’t even a legitimate belief system is a new and much more virulent form of hatred than we have seen in the past.

What we ultimately end up with here is that nothing that these politicians and pundits are talking about in terms of “antisemitism” and/or “Zionism” has anything to do with the common Jewish people...the people who simply accept the Judaism as their spiritual belief system. The common Jewish people are literally being used as a rhetorical device due to their association with those Jews and non-Jews who are operating in the secular world who want to justify their own actions in the context of their supposed relationship to the Jewish people…using them in effect like human shields. For the Jewish people who have been obscenely mistreated down through history by Christian and Islamic societies, this just looks like another prelude to oppression and genocide.

The worst shame is that many Jewish leaders and pundits like Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin who are screaming antisemitism at anyone who dares to criticize the actions of modern Israel are exacerbating this problem exponentially. These are Jewish political conservatives who are falling in with the radical, Deep State leftists of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) who seek to create deep animosity between the Jewish people and the Christian world. Ben and Mark are oblivious to the effect that they are having that can only lead to disaster for the Jewish people.

So, as the left always says before they lie to you, let’s be clear. Words matter. To all of the politicians and pundits on the right and left who routinely fling about accusatory statements using the words “antisemite” or “Zionist,” stop it! Say what you want to say in terms that don’t involve the Jewish people. The Jewish people are not properly characterized as "Semites" and are properly characterized as Zionists primarily in terms of seeing the modern Israel simply as a Jewish homeland. If you wish to criticize Jewish leaders, Jewish pundits, Jewish politicians, and/or Israel, or you wish to criticize those who criticize Jewish leaders, Jewish pundits, Jewish politicians, and/or Israel, GO FOR IT, but leave the Jewish people who just want to live their lives in peace like everybody else out of it.
