In Judaism, the end times, often called the “Messianic Era,” refer to a future period when the Messiah will appear and bring spiritual and political redemption to the world. Unlike some Christian teachings, Judaism does not view the Messiah as already having come.

Even though this is a different belief, the end times details of the Jewish people are quite telling, as they confirm many things regarding the timing of the end times.

Jewish Key Beliefs – End Times

Coming of The Messiah

The Messiah is expected to be a human descendant of King David. When He comes,

He will restore Israel, bring peace, and lead the Jewish people in following God’s laws fully.

Note the similarity here. Christians and Jewish People are both waiting for a “person/entity” to appear in the last days to bring peace to the earth.

Return to the Land of Israel

The regathering of Jews to Israel is seen as a sign that the world is moving toward redemption. Many rabbis point to the modern return of Jews as a prophetic milestone.

Wars and Global Conflict

Prophecies speak of a great war (Gog and Magog) before the Messiah comes.

These conflicts will demonstrate God’s ultimate power and prepare the world for peace.

Christianity teaches of this same battle, Gog and Magog war that will occur at the beginning of the Tribulation period.

Spiritual and Moral Preparation

Jewish texts describe a world of corruption, injustice, and moral decline before the Messiah comes to the earth.

Elijah the Prophet is expected to appear first, announcing the Messiah and helping people return to God.

Malachi 4:5 (KJV)

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”

Many Christians believe Elijah will return during the end times as one of the two witnesses described in Book of Revelation 11.

Jerusalem and the Temple

Jerusalem will become the center of attention for all nations, fulfilling prophecy. (This is currently happening as we speak!)

The rebuilding of the Third Temple is an essential part of Messianic expectations. They believe that this new temple will be built upon the Temple Mount, exactly where Solomons temple once stood.

The temple is necessary so that the Jewish people can start to once again perform their animal sacrifices whish will BRING the Messiah to the earth to reign.

According to the Jewish people, everything is ready for this temple to be built. All of the building plans as well as the temple artifacts have already been obtained, and have been for many years.

They are 100% ready to proceed in building this temple, yet, the only thing that is stopping them is that the Muslim religion has control over the spot where King Solomons temple once was. There is a building called the “Dome of the Rock” that is currently there, and is a very sacred spot for the Islam religion.

They have even secured the unblemished red heifers which are necessary to sacrifice on behalf of building this new temple. When these heifers were delivered to the state of Israel, it was likely the reason that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. Hamas was trying to interfere with Gods plan regarding the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The Jewish Calendar

Their calendar follows a 7,000-year pattern (based on the six days of creation plus the Sabbath rest). It is believed that humanity may be near the end of the sixth millennium, symbolically associated with the coming of the Messiah and the Messianic age.

6,000 years of human history

followed by 1,000 years of peace (like the Sabbath after six days)

This idea comes from passages in the Talmud and interpretations of Book of Genesis.

Because the Jewish calendar is currently in the 5000s, some rabbis say humanity is now in the final centuries before the Messianic age.

Likewise, Christians also believe in the 7,000 years on earth for mankind.

From Adam to the Birth of Jesus Christ = 4,000 years

From the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to His Return – The Second Coming of Jesus Christ in 2033 = 2,000 years.

The Millennial Period from Christs return to “Heaven” (Day of rest) – 1,000 years.

Total Time on earth – 7,000 years

Christianity belief teaches of a 7-year Tribulation Period, which has NOT started yet. It MUST start in the year 2026 in order to be completed before the return of Jesus Christ in the year 2033.

Some Jewish rabbis and teachers are discussing the current Hebrew year (5786) and why they think it could be an important season for the coming of the Messiah. But it’s important to understand that this is not a universally accepted belief in Judaism. It is mainly discussed by certain rabbis, mystics, and prophecy interpreters.

Here are a few of the reasons they mention.

The Jewish Year 5786

The current year on the Hebrew calendar is 5786 (from fall 2025 to fall 2026).

Some rabbis look at the numerical meaning of Hebrew letters, called gematria, and see symbolic hints in this year.

For example:

The number 786 has been connected by some teachers with the phrase “the Messiah will come.”

Because of this numerical connection, some rabbis suggest the year 5786 could be a significant year in the redemption process.

Again, this is interpretation from some Rabbis, (not from myself), and not a universally accepted doctrine.

As the end-times unfold, we can see that these two religions have very similar ideas when it comes to the “Timing” of when the “end” will occur.

To me, this lends additional credibility in our understanding that we are in the final years. The Jewish religion does NOT believe in the Rapture as many Christians believe. However, God has a “Rescue Plan” for them as well. Let’s learn the details of that RESCUE.

Jesus’ Warning to Flee

Since the Jewish people are not “in Christ” they will not be taken up in the rapture. There is purpose in leaving them behind, for they must have the opportunity to come to Christ. However, God still has a “rescue plan for them”.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus warns about a future event called the “abomination of desolation.”

Matthew 24:15–16 (KJV)

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains.”

Many Christians interpret this to mean that when a future world ruler (the antichrist) desecrates the new temple in Israel, the Jewish people in the region will realize something is terribly wrong and escape quickly.

The Abomination of Desolation

This event comes from prophecy in the Book of Daniel.

Daniel 9:27 (KJV)

“…in the midst of the week (3.5 years into the Tribulation Period) he (the antichrist) shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate…”

Many interpreters believe this refers to a ruler often identified as the Antichrist. He will then, in the temple, declare his true identity, satan, and Demand Worship. The Jewish people will realize that this is not their Messiah as they thought. THEY will fear for their lives. God has already instructed them to “flee into the wilderness” as it states in the scripture. By doing so, God will keep these people safe as they are taught the true Gospel of Jesus Crist.

Protection in the Wilderness

Another related passage appears in the Book of Revelation.

Revelation 12:6 (KJV)

“And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God…”

Many prophecy teachers interpret the “woman” here as representing Israel, being protected by God during a time of great persecution. God will rescue these people as they flee into the wilderness, where He will protect them as they are taught about Jesus Christ.

Who will teach these people about Jesus Christ?

It is my believe, and supported by scripture, that several groups will be used by God during the tribulation to proclaim the gospel.

Here are the main ones described in scripture.

The 144,000 Jewish Servants of God

In the Book of Revelation, God seals 144,000 people from the tribes of Israel.

Revelation 7:4 (KJV)

“And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”

Many Bible teachers believe these 144,000 Jewish believers will preach about Jesus Christ as the true Messiah during the tribulation and help lead many Israelites to faith.

The Two Witnesses

Another powerful witness comes from two prophets described in Book of Revelation 11.

These two witnesses will:

preach in Jerusalem

perform miracles

warn the world

One of them will likely be Elijah, because of the miracles described.

Their message will clearly testify about God and His truth.

An Angel Proclaiming the Gospel

The Bible also describes a supernatural proclamation of the gospel.

Revelation 14:6 (KJV)

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth…”

This means the message of God will reach the whole world—even in the darkest time.

I hope that you have found this information to be thought provoking for your continued studies. There is only one truth that will happen in the end times. This is God’s plan, not a churches religious plan or teaching.

The spirit is trying to reveal these truths to you. Prayerfully ask God to direct you through these teachings that are being exposed, even though your church is not teaching them.

It is fascinating to me to see that both religions are anxiously awaiting these final days, even though their interpretation of the details vary.
