There has indeed been a great deal happening in the past week. Perhaps I can share some information that might be helpful for you who are interested in the end times prophecies.

Is the current attack on Israel the beginning of WWIII? How about the start of the Gog and Magog war as prophesied in Book of Ezekiel 38–39? If not, where does this fit into end times prophecy?

To answer these questions, let’s start with the things that we know, as written by PROPHETS, recorded in the scriptures of the bible. Let’s begin with the teachings about “wars” in the last days. End times prophecies talk a great deal about wars, so let’s review what has been written.

“Wars and Rumors of Wars” is an End-Times Prophecy

Jesus spoke directly about the signs of the end times:

Matthew 24:6-7

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom…”

We can know for certain that the US attacking Iran is included in this prophecy… Along with all of the other current conflicts that are happening, and the ones of recent.

There is an interesting phrase noted in this scripture: “…see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

As we watch the news, many are “troubled.” How can we not feel anything other than concern? We’ve just been instructed in this scripture above, NOT to be troubled, so how can we do this?

We obtain a sense of calm by realizing that what is happening right now with Iran is in God’s end times plan. God has already established a plan for what happens from here on out throughout the world. Wars and rumors of wars are part of this plan; it is not just randomly happening.

The prophets of the bible have written God’s plan down for us, so that we would know what is coming and what to expect. MORE IMPORTANTLY, these writings are intended to bring us COMFORT…yes comfort! I’ll show you specifically how to find comfort in these writings later.

So first off, do you know what God’s end-times plans are? Secondly, do you believe and have faith in His plan?

Sadly, I must report that MANY followers of Jesus Christ do not know of the plan that the prophets have written about. They are relying on current church leaders to teach them God’s end-times plan. They believe perhaps it is not important to know, since current leaders are not teaching it.

I must challenge this way of thinking by asking, why would God give His prophets direct revelations regarding the end times, if we are not supposed to know about them?

A leader of a church should be all over this information. We are living in the last days, and they should be teaching each and everything that the prophets of old have written. NEVER since Jesus Christ was on the earth, has there ever been such an important “Spiritual History” of time on earth than TODAY.

Another war listed in end times prophecy is “The Battle of Armageddon”

The book of Revelation 16:14-16 talks about the gathering of armies in the end times:

“For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty… And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

Revelation 9:16

“And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.”

Two hundred thousand thousand = 200,000,000 (200 million). This is a pretty good indicator of the size of those who battle.

Armageddon happens later, during the Sixth Bowl (Vial) judgment.

Revelation 16:12–16

“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared…
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

Here we see:

Kings of the East march toward Israel

Nations gather for the final battle against Christ

I would encourage you to study for yourself the Euphrates River actually drying up. It is happening right now. This prophecy, which is one of the last events in the Tribulation period, is already beginning to be fulfilled.

We understand that the Battle of Armageddon will take place at the end of the 7-year Tribulation period. This is when Christ will come to fight this fight. Many nations will descend upon Israel with the intent to DESTROY this nation. We can therefore eliminate the Battle of Armageddon as a possibility of what is happening right now. It occurs at the end of the 7-year Tribulation Period.

Here is the last end times battles that we will discuss – Gog and Magog War

This is one war to consider because we know that it happens early on in the “end times.” This prophecy describes a coalition of nations attacking Israel.

Ezekiel 38:2–3

“Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.”

Ezekiel 38:5–6

“Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands…”

Many scholars associate Persia with modern Iran.

But here is the most revealing part that gives us an understanding of the TIME when this Gog and Magog war will take place. Israel must FIRST be in a state of Peace and Safety. Let’s learn about this.

Ezekiel 38:8

“After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people… safely inhabited, all of it.”

The phrase “safely inhabited” (or “dwelling without walls” in some translations) implies that Israel will be living in relative peace and security.

If Israel were already in chaos or war, there would be no need for God to emphasize that the land is at peace.

Ezekiel 38:11

“And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates…”

Israel must be in peace or security before the invasion.

Ezekiel 38:14–16

“Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog… Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwell safely, shalt thou not know it?”

This explicitly mentions “when my people of Israel dwell safely”, indicating Gog will invade after Israel has gained a sense of security and rest.

Many link this to the prophetic idea in 1 Thessalonians 5:3, where sudden destruction comes upon those who say “Peace and safety.”

1 Thessalonians 5:3

“When they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh…”

So, what is happening right now in Iran is NOT the battle of Gog and Magog. Israel again must first be in a state of peace. Then after Israel is in Peace and Safety, the Gog and Magog battle will begin.

Will this week’s bombing of Iran play into the Gog and Magog war? Absolutely!!! You can see how this is uniting several other countries that are wanting to support Iran. Remember, the Gog and Magog war STARTS with Iran, Russia, and other countries attacking Israel…NOT in a defensive position, but to ATTACK.

I’d like to suggest that when you are watching the news or even on social media, be tuned in to these words: Peace and Safety. The next prophetic step of the end times is Peace and Safety…Perhaps even the talk of WORLD peace and safety.

So, what can we expect next that will bring Peace to Israel?

President Trump has just recently formed a WORLD Board of Peace. The purpose of this board is to bring Peace to Israel and surrounding countries. It will be the antichrist who sits on that board that will sign the 7-year peace agreement as described in the book of Daniel:

Daniel 9:27

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Many Bible students understand this verse as describing the 7-year Tribulation period:

1. “Confirm the covenant with many for one week”

“One week” in Daniel’s prophecy represents seven years.

This is often understood as the 7-year peace agreement involving Israel.

2. “In the midst of the week”

The middle of seven years = 3½ years.

At this point the Antichrist breaks the agreement.

3. “Cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease”

This suggests temple sacrifices are happening again in Jerusalem.

4. “Abominations… make it desolate”

This is what Jesus later called the “abomination of desolation.”

For all of us, the most important thing that we all should know, is the very next end times event which will occur prior to everything that I have mentioned above. It is called the rapture.

What is the Rapture?

Simply stated, just like when God rescued Noah and his family from the flood that destroyed the inhabitants of the earth…and…just like when God parted the Red Sea to assist the Israelites from death and destruction, God has a plan for His followers TODAY to be rescued from the terrible Tribulation period that is coming.

Prior to the start of the Tribulation Period, God will send His son, Jesus Christ, to call up all of His followers to meet Him in the clouds, to be with Him forever. Let’s look at that scripture.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

This is the clearest description of the rapture (“caught up”), but notice it occurs before any mention of wrath or judgment, implying removal prior to tribulation.

Let’s keep looking for supporting scripture that gives us some timing reference of the rapture.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 – Deliverance from Wrath

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ…”

God’s children are not appointed to wrath. Many interpret this to mean believers will be taken out of the world before the 7-year tribulation, which is the period of God’s wrath on the earth.

I have written a great deal about the timing of the rapture if you would like to explore this further.

My Belief

If I were to put things in order, as it relates to the starting of the last days, I would list the events in this order:

The Rapture of the Church – To take place ANY day now.

Peace and safety coming to Israel through the signing of the 7-year Peace Agreement with Israel and the Antichrist. This starts the 7-year Tribulation Period.

Gog and Magog Battle Begins

At the end of the 7-year Tribulation Period, the Battle of Armageddon.

There are obviously MANY other details that will happen between the Gog and Magog War and the Battle of Armageddon, which I have not included due to the length of this writing.

I hope that this information help you place things in perspective as you see events unfold on the news. In my opinion and belief, we are not headed into a world war. We are headed towards Peace and Safety as prophesied in the end times revelation. Again, listen for this “chatter” so that you can see the conformation as I do. It will bring you COMFORT which is the entire purpose of the prophets’ writings of the end times.

Realize that Jesus Christ is coming to rescue His Followers, those who are “in Christ” as it states in the rapture scripture. There is NO GREATER COMFORT than to know that this is God’s plan for us. We will not have to go through one day of the tribulation period…NOT ONE! All of the end times information that you have heard that is frightening will not pertain to you, as long as you are first “in Christ.”

If you are not a follower of Jesus Christ, I invite you to do so RIGHT NOW, so that you will be included in the rapture. There is information on this blog to help you with the process.

And for those followers of Jesus Christ, regardless of if they believe in the rapture or not…They will all be raptured from this earth. The dead “in Christ” will be resurrected at this time, and those of us “caught up” who are currently alive will have our bodies changed, so that we can live with Christ. Here’s that scripture:

1 Corinthians 15:51–52

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

Remember, there is ONLY ONE TRUTH, regardless of our individual beliefs. I invite you to prayerfully search the things that I have written today, so that you will see the truths that I have shared from the Prophets of the bible regarding the end times.
