There has been a lot of press lately about some Jews complaining about the way that Christmas has come to dominate everything in American life that happens from Thanksgiving to December 25. This whole thing about saying “happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” is just the tip of the iceberg and it is insane. Sane Jews realize that America was founded and remains dominated by Christians. We live in a Christian country, not officially, but that’s what it is…and Christian America is a paradise on Earth unparalleled in history for the Jewish people.

Jews have lived in the greatest comfort, opportunity, freedom, and prosperity than any other time in their history in Christian America and for that all Jews should be incredibly grateful. Sure, there are and have always been pockets of antisemitism in American society, but even where anti-Jewish discrimination has existed, the Jewish people have managed to succeed and prosper anyway because that is what America is all about…it’s a big country, opportunity is everywhere and anyone can make it if you have the right stuff.

So Merry Christmas to Christian America from me and the deeply patriotic, vast majority of the rest of Jewish community of America who actually appreciate the society and country you created…and Happy New Year!
