BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | November 21, 2025: In a timely fashion, the Venezuelan National Assembly has approved a 15-year extension with the state-owned PDVSA and the Russian company Roszarubezhneft to continue operation of joint ventures of oil production in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan parliament statement reads, "A plenary session of the National Assembly approved a 15-year extension of the operation of the Boqueron and Petroperija joint ventures to continue oil production from 2026 to 2041."

The Russian President Vladimir Putin had also signed months earlier in 2025 a law ratifying the Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with Venezuela, according to the decree published on the official Kremlin website for legal information. - Dated on May 7, with President Putin and his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, holding talks in Moscow, where an agreement was signed on strategic partnership and cooperation, which provides for enhanced cooperation in the economy, energy, mining and other strategic sectors. The agreement also outlines that the parties strongly oppose unilateral coercive and restrictive measures, to include those of an extraterritorial nature, which constitute a violation of the UN Charter and other universally recognized norms and principles of international law. Both sides also agree to contribute to the formation of an independent Russian-Venezuelan financial infrastructure.
