BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | November 2, 2025: As neocons inside the United States continue to finalize the eventual invasion of Venezuela, DefenseNews reports that a Russian Il-76 transport aircraft linked to the military and the former Wagner mercenary group, has landed in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital over the weekend, indicating heightened Russian interest to what is going on from the United States meddling and provocation in the Latin American country.

The Il-76 transport aircraft can carry up to 50 tons of cargo or up to 200 people. An aircraft of this type has in the past delivered small arms, military supplies and even mercenaries on Russia’s behalf.

This latest move by Russia into the region comes as tensions between Venezuela, a longtime ally of Russia, and the United States provocations in the region laying the pretext to invade the country. The United States over several weeks has been accusing the government of Venezuela to be involved in illegal drug trade, and has deployed US military assets to the region to conduct bombing strikes on vessels it accuses of trafficking narcotics - without proof.
