After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, a groundswell of high school and college students across the country sought to create new chapters in schools. High school chapters are called Club America and college chapters are Turning Point USA. New chapter inquiries have increased to over 130,000 since September 10th. The network itself grew form approximately 500,000 members to over 800,000 members. This is in less than a month.

Locally, a group of students at a high school in Maryland applied to start a chapter:

A local county commissioner posted a picture of the members of the chapter as they were honored at the commissioner's meeting.

While the response of many was extremely positive, there were a couple of people who thought this was a great opportunity to threaten and intimidate these young people:

Many other chapters have experienced resistance from schools and certain advocacy groups.

All of this mirrors the rampant hatred expressed online by leftists who celebrated Kirk's death.

What is the point of all this?

It's no surprise that the main purpose is intimidation. For example, if the person in the thread regarding the Stephen Decatur High School chapter can scare parents, students, and even other schools, he may be able to keep them from creating chapters of their own.

And that is the point of all of this.

They, including the guy making the threats, are afraid. These groups scare them because they know that they are powerful and they can make change, just like Charlie Kirk did.

The thing with intimidation is that it only works for so long. At some point those who are initially intimidated see the people making threats for what they are. Cowards.

The parent in Texas is the same. Instead of arranging to talk to the young people starting a chapter, she decided to label them a threat to women, minorities, gay people, etc. She shared lies about the ideas and even the death of Charlie Kirk. Then she told other adults to shut down the group, even doxxing some of the people involved.

Intimidation. Coward.

And then there is this on a college campus in Arizona.

Cowards all. Afraid to exchange ideas but would rather throw temper tantrums and hand off cartoonish messages that look like those of a third grader and then run away like a scared rat. (Our apologies to rats.)

Will the intimidation work?

For some, perhaps. But, most won't back down. Not anymore.

See, there are many who have come before them. There are parents like members of Moms for Liberty who were labeled domestic terrorists for speaking at school board meetings or advocating for parental rights. Other groups promoted Christianity, the Constitution, etc. They have been labeled as hate groups by actual hate groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center.
