Thirty years goes by fast.

We are in Wildwood for the weekend. I like it much more when it isn’t overrun with the hoards of obese tattooed ignorant masses, like it is during the summer months. There is hardly anyone here, other than the old year-round boomers. The weather is perfect for long walks and even going to the beach for a few hours. Our little condo has a porch where we are able to watch the sun rise out of the Atlantic Ocean every morning. It is very peaceful and relaxing.

But, I can never stop observing the degradation and fall of our society. Morey’s pier is having their annual Oktoberfest celebration, with craft beers, rides for the kids, German cuisine, and a roaming band wearing lederhosen playing traditional German tunes. We walked the 30 blocks on the boardwalk to observe the festivities. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The crowd was distinctly white, so there were no shootings, rapes or robberies.

As we were walking home on the boardwalk, how could we not miss Giovannas Goodies. Sounds Italian, but the guy running the place is a Muslim, like most of the other retail outlets on the boardwalk. Why is that? If ever there was a picture that captures what America has become, it is the picture below. Where else could you access to all the main food groups in the average American diet: funnel cake, fried oreos, waffles with ice cream, just ice cream, hot dogs, corn dogs, popcorn, crepes, lemonade, hot wings, chicken tenders & fries, shrimp & fries, cotton candy, and probably worse stuff not on the signs. Checkout the size of Newman standing in line to order his health food.

I can’t understand why the country has an obesity problem. This place has been there for decades, along with hundreds of other purveyors of death on the boardwalk. The good news is the ignorant obese masses can gorge themselves on this variety of garbage “food” and then waddle into one of the dozens of tattoo parlors on the boardwalk to deface their bodies further. I guess this what happens as an empire circles the toilet on its way down.
