A day after President Donald Trump stunned global policymakers and delighted Ukrainian leaders by embracing Kiev’s ambitions for a decisive defeat of Russia, the Washington Post revealed: “President Donald Trump’s furious rhetoric toward Russia is “a negotiating tactic” intended to pressure the Kremlin, a senior White House official said Wednesday”.

Among the stunned global policymakers trying to understand President Trump is Chief Executive Richard Fontaine of the Center for New American Security organization, who assessed: “Trump is oscillating between extreme views of the situation — previously, Ukraine couldn’t win because Kyiv didn’t have cards to play, and now it can win all of its territory back because Russia is merely a paper tiger...Either view seems to minimize America’s role in the war...He suggests no change in U.S. policy...There is no new call for a cease-fire or peace agreement, no new sanctions, no new deadlines and no new military support for Ukraine, beyond the weapons NATO buys from the United States”.

Among those not stunned by President Trump is Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksiy Goncharenko, who declared Trump was effectively telling Ukraine and the European Union: “You deal with it...I hope you can do it...Good luck!”—and was a declaration confirmed by the news: “A joint statement by Ukraine and the European Union condemning Russia has received the backing of only 36 out of the 193 United Nations member states...The United States notably abstained”.

After effectively washing his hands of the Ukraine war, President Trump issued a lengthy post he began with the warning: “After reviewing the details of the unserious and ridiculous demands being made by the Minority Radical Left Democrats in return for their Votes to keep our thriving Country open, I have decided that no meeting with their Congressional Leaders could possibly be productive”.

Following President Trump eviscerating unserious socialist Democrats it was revealed: “House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries drew a clear line in the sand Wednesday on what a deal to stop a government shutdown must look like, telling reporters he will not accept any type of unwritten agreement...Funding is set to run out at midnight on September 30, at which point most federal agencies will shut down without a spending agreement from Congress”.

After the United States government shuts down on 30 September, the following day it will see President Trump able to rescind all foreign funding approved by Congress, whose authority over these funds lapses on 1 October—and is a gift to Trump joined with the news: “A memo from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) indicates that agencies are directed to use this opportunity to consider reduction in force (RIF) notices for all federal employee...Agencies were also directed to revise RIFs once a shutdown ends to retain the “minimal number” of employees needed to function, and a plan must be submitted to OMB...The memo essentially directs agencies to permanently fire some federal employees that otherwise would be furloughed during a shutdown but then return to work once Congress reopens the government”.
