Where the winds do howl and the seagulls soar
In a castle high on Ireland’s green
'Twas there I grew to be a pirate queen!

A pirate queen, oh fierce and bold
Her story's worth its weight in gold

On stormy seas and foreign sands
Grace O’Malley ruled the land!

My father taught me the sailor's trade
Not one to sit and weave or braid
I took to sea with a mighty crew
And claimed the coasts as my kingdom, too!

She sailed the ships from Clare to Spain
Bound by neither king nor chain
Fearless Grace with sword in hand
Would fight and die for her command!
