Instead of looking at the Chinese government as though they were just like us, maybe we should be paying better attention to what they are saying and doing. Since the days of Richard Nixon, China has been putting on a happy face and telling our leaders they just want to increase their manufacturing to improve the lives of their citizens. Would that be the same citizens it surveiles in order to tightly control the populace? Who was it that believed that China just wanted to be on the same playing field as the rest of the nations of the world? Really? Then, why have they been imprisoning their own citizens who resist and expose them to the world?
I just read the other day that some of our government loony tunes believe that China will become more democratic if given the chance. There were actually people who believed this nonsense. Look at the way the people of Hong Kong were treated after it went from British rule back to the CCP. Do you think that the Taiwanese will fare any better if China has its way? China was even allowed to join the World Trade Organization, because the others members were assured that China would play nice. That has never been China’s goal. They have assured themselves that in this century, it is their turn to rule the planet. How do I know this? By not kidding myself about their intentions toward us. Or making excuses for their tyrannical behavior.
We see someone who resembles Winnie the Pooh, playing nice with everyone in the hundred acre wood. That isn’t what has been happening. With a goal of total global hegemony, or at the very least, economic global hegemony, they have placed themselves in many countries around the world, especially any they deem strategic. They help those countries to build schools, hospitals and important infrastructure, among other things. They must think they are close to success when they warn other countries not to sell products to the United States that we would normally buy from China. It doesn’t look to me as if Trump is winning this poker game. That bluster only works when you hold the winning cards. Trump finally met someone he couldn’t intimidate? Interesting. Now what?
I have been screaming at top volume, since the late 70’s, about factories and businesses closing up and leaving our shores for China and all points east. How did that ever happen? Greed? But, it wasn’t just the unions, as they would have us believe. Unions asking for more wages and/or benefits, was the excuse used for closing up factories and moving them out of the country. Besides, when the bargaining unit saw the obscene salary and benefits these upper crust managed to latch onto, why wouldn’t they ask for more? It was the cheap labor and much fewer regulations that had the CEO’s salivating. I asked one of our middle managers who he thought was going to be able to buy the products coming back in from all of these other countries, mostly Chinese factories, especially since the tariff’s were only going one way, with China being the winner. I got my usual, ‘Deer in the headlight’ look that I usually got when I ask a common sense question of someone who has reached their level of incompetence. He hadn’t even considered that aspect of it.
I asked, “What happened when you guys shut down our pencil line and took it to Mexico last year?” He gave me a sheepish look and said, “We moved it back here eventually.” “Eventually? As I recall, that was the quickest breakdown and ship back process I had ever see. But, my point was, remember, as soon as they got their first paycheck, many went out and got drunk, only returning back to work when they ran out of money. Don’t assume that every culture is like America. We have a strong work ethic in this country, fortified by so many immigrants over the last 100-150 years.” That may not all apply to the Chinese or Japanese worker. And, it doesn’t matter if we are talking clothes, toys, or cosmetics. But, the problem is in allowing other countries to obtain any product critical to our national security. A country we have friendly relations with today, may not feel that way toward us a decade later. If they have control over our necessary products, like medicine and supplements, but more critically, components for our technology, military and civilian, do you think they are going to play nice and keep our supplies coming in?
I have heard all kinds of horror stories about various moves the Chinese have planned or already executed to make it difficult to impossible to quickly replace critical items, should our relationship go south. And, President Trump, in his blustering, threatening way, has just made a serious blunder. Does he think by placing high tariffs on Chinese goods coming to our shores, it’s going to bring Xi and his regime to their knees where they will beg him to reconsider? Of course not. I’m sorry to have to enlighten him, but China has the winning hand in this high stakes poker game. Not only did China not beg for forgiveness, they just shut down the shipments of any of their products coming to our shores.
That is just great. It looks to me like Trump just blinked first. As I pointed out earlier, there are things we can do without. There are other sources for some things. Between coast to coast yard sales, Salvation Army and Goodwill and privately run second hand stores, we aren’t likely to run out of clothes, toys, and household products. There are also, in almost every town in summer and early fall, farmers markets. There are those of us who can sew, garden, process food, and have any number of skills to help our community if store shelves dry up. The real problem is our electronics, whether that is chips for our cell phones, tablets , computers and automobiles. What about farm equipment? How many people know that when your mega expensive tractor dies, you have to call the company who made it to allow you to fire it up again?
I have another question. I keep hearing how smart Chinese people are. And, I don’t doubt that. But, if they are so smart, why do they have to steal our intellectual property? And, to make sure they will be able to continue doing that, they infiltrate our colleges and universities as well as our political landscape. It seems like every politician from California and other blue states, have been pursueded to fight for them in Congress. Diane Feinstein, for twenty years, had a Chinese driver. Was he her handler too? From what I’ve dug up lately, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff and Gavin Newsome were for sale. It hasn’t all been on the Democrat side of the aisle either. Mitch McConnell is married to a Chinese woman with close family ties to the CCP. As reprehensible as the entire Biden clan has been in sucking up to the CCP for a price, for a long time, they are far from the only ones. China has infiltrated every level of our society to the point where they can weigh in on what films we can make or what legislation gets passed. What the hell? Are we just a satellite country of the CCP? So, Trump tries to bluff and China retaliates with a better hand. And, if we don’t like it, and decide to buy those necessary items from other countries, Beijing has let these other countries know that selling those products to the U.S. might have serious consequences for that country.
We are being boxed in the same way as we have done in the past with other countries. Acting like the bully on the block. Are we in grade school? How many developing countries can withstand that kind of threat? We’re about ready to find ourselves alone on the playground. This is all going on while we are trying to deal with two other hot spots that aren’t panning out as we thought. The war between Ukraine and Russia and the genocide in Palestine with Israel don’t appear to be wrapping things up very quickly. What happened to, “If I’m elected president, that war will be over in 24 hours”? Er, can we stop holding our breath now? I’m turning blue waiting for either situation to be resolved to the satisfaction of all the players.
Whatever his ideas about Russia and Ukraine, let’s not forget for one second that Trump is cheer-leading for Israel. He is losing more supporters every time he pats NuttyYahoo on the back, telling him,”Good job!”Like every other Israeli apologist, he glosses over the many thousands of innocent men, women and children NuttyYahoo has continued to slaughter long after a retaliatory strike back was accomplished. Let’s not forget that Trump’s oldest daughter became a Jew when she married Jewish Jared Kushner, who just happens to be...wait for it...NuttyYahoo’s godson. Hmm. Those of us who know how to think critically, saw right threw the bullshit attack of October 7th, with no problem. Trump seems like an intelligent person to me, so how is he swallowing Israel’s BS account of the incident? That was a classic Problem-Reaction-Solution.
So, Trump, the ball is in your court. What are you going to do next? Just how far under Israel’s control are you?Are your decisions going to make America better or other regimes because you underestimated your opponent and America’s ability to withstand any attack on us? Have the Chinese brought you to your knees yet? Have you finally figured out that Washington and Jefferson were right? “Do not become entangled in foreign wars.”We are not the babysitter or the policeman of the world. We need to respond to threats to us. We do not have the military might we once had. It would be suicide to rush to defend any country that was attacked by the superpowers of today. We need to get ourselves back to where we were in the early fifties. Start closing the military bases all over the world, bring that military home and put them to rebuilding our infrastructure and securing our borders. That is how you make America great again. As for any foreign invaders inside our country, show them where the door is. And any libtard who tries to harbor them, needs to find out what happens to traitors. Remember, a very small force of Americans in 1776 showed the greatest army in the world what an aroused citizenry can do when provoked beyond bearing. This time is really no different. We can do this.
