SITREP: THE INTERNET IS NOT SECURE

We live in a digital age built on software so full of holes it could pass for Swiss cheese. If you think your information, identity, or finances are safe online—think again.

Here’s what most people don’t realize:
The foundational code of the internet was never designed to be secure.
 Protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, etc., were built for connection, not protection. Security was bolted on after the fact—haphazardly.

No one is in charge of securing the internet. 
Governments, corporations, coders—none have taken meaningful responsibility for the gaping holes in the systems we all depend on. It's a global digital free-for-all.

Hackers aren’t just some teenager in a hoodie.
 Many attacks are organized, transnational, or even state-sponsored. Your accounts, your money, and your identity can be targeted—and the authorities are often powerless to help.

Coders writing the base-layer code are rarely held accountable.
There is no ethical or legal obligation for security in foundational software used by billions. If their code enables global fraud, exploitation, or identity theft—too bad. No consequences.

Big tech has no meaningful customer service when things go wrong.
Try contacting Google or PayPal when your account is hacked. You’ll meet walls of silence, automation, or indifference. Their systems profit from scale—not from protecting you.

The result?
 Millions of people are at risk or already compromised, and don’t even know it. The entire web functions as a high-speed, unsecured data marketplace, and your information is the currency.

The uncomfortable truth:
 Security online is an illusion.
The system was never designed for your safety.

We need a conversation about:
Digital fiduciary responsibility
Accountable coding
Lawful tech infrastructure
Ethical web architecture

Until that happens, treat the web as a war zone. Encrypt your data. Question everything. Back up offline. And understand: the danger isn’t coming. It’s already here.
