Trump is no constitutionalist, nor an admirer of the Bill of Rights. He's a would be, self-proclaimed, king wanting to be announced when he enters a room as "His Majesty - Donald Trump", with musical accompaniment, 'Hail to the Chief'. He is the sole decider. He's the guy W Bush wanted to be. Now Trump is that guy . . . make no doubt about it.
I'm under fire from some readers who used to see me as their curly-haired boy. Back when I was giving it to Obama/Biden, there was seemingly nothing separating us. Issues with mRNA, from those dumb enough to sign up, but clarity brought us to terms. Now, it's Trump. Any who ever saw themselves in a MAGA hat now view me askance. Why? Because I'm in that ever-diminishing middle, with greater numbers of true believers on the left and right. I truly disliked Obama. I may end up disliking Trump as much, except he saved us from python-squeeze globalism. For that I'm forever grateful. That said, we find ourselves in a Constitution/Bill of Rights shakedown, conducted without the safety of due process and constitutionality, at the hands of 'His Majesty'.
Trump jettisoned the JCPOA (i.e. the Iran nuclear deal) as part of a bigger plan to neuter “the resistance” - Russia & China. Like the Minsk Accords, the JCPOA was a ruse, plotted for Iranian regime change.
Anybody not seeing Trump's resemblance to American Revolution, King George, is not watching closely. We fought for independence because we were being taxed without representation. Those were same conditions as now. Tariffs are a tax, only to be imposed by Congress (constitutionally). Now Trump is taxing the hell out of Americans. Congress (in its infinite stupidity), under Jimmy Carter (1977), passed the “International Economic Powers Act”, allowing the president to impose tariffs or sanctions in an emergency (the same well thought-out way they now allow presidents to conduct endless war). The word that matters is “emergency”. Just as FDA/CDC used “emergency” to destroy the immune systems of millions, Trump is using emergency (where none exists), to apply tariffs (that he in no way understands) across the globe. In fact, if Trump's tariffs came to be under deliberative congressional scrutiny, they would suffer wrath/ridicule.
Under the act, for there to be an emergency, there has to be unusual and extraordinary threat to national security from outside the United States. Trump tried to have fentanyl be the emergency, but the paltry amount coming from Canada did not stand the test. So he shifted. “Other nations began treating us unfairly in 1934” (his words), so emergency action was called for. 1934 begs the question . . . what question? Trump's assumption is that a trade deficit with another country indicates that country is to blame for the imbalance, an imbalance corrected only with tariff and sanctions. But there is no emergency and no basis for reciprocal tariffs. Trump is blaming other nations because we buy more from them than we sell. And, we have little to trade unless nations want to blow-up their neighbors.
An emergency necessitates harm caused by others, but they didn't make us buy their products and they are not to blame. Trump's tariffs have little to do with anything of blame that these countries are doing. We have bought, for decades, more than we could pay for, and service our debt. Now 'His Majesty', wants those nations to pony-up for that debt. Trump seems likely tainted with the blood of royalty, which affects the brain through inbreeding, with a mission to shakedown the world. Make America Solvent Again, without resorting to ethics.
Trumpers are all out there screaming that the judiciary is to blame (a friend sent a JH Kunstler article but, sorry, I don't abide Zionists). Obama appointed judges that deprived Trump of due process in exactly in the way that he is dong now. His DOJ is in court explaining how Venezuelans, some in planes on the ground in the US, were transported to maximum security in El Salvador against court order. Totally opposed to Biden's open border I'm equally against Trump using the Constitution as a plaything.
Here's my problem: I have no faith in Marty Armstrong's Socrates computer, no faith in Proverbs, no faith in FaceBook/Instagram, no faith in AI/GDPChat, or anything purposed to tell us how or what to think. I trust mostly in myself, the Bill of Rights, a few dogs, and a few friends. I know Obama to be such a bore, and it's coming more clear, daily, Trump is the kind of guy Jefferson would have ducked in the halls of Congress. You love Trump . . . he's playing 5 hands of 'Texas Hold-em', all at once. Fine, but don't be surprised if instead of getting us to world peace we see a different Trump.
Do I still have some hope? I do, but colored by his inane tariffs/sanctions less by the day. Soon we will be treated to a notion that Trump purposely broke the economy in order to reset it. How stupid do you need be to believe that a man who doesn't read, who gets and acts on, 2nd-hand advice, from morons, will have a legacy on par with War and Peace/Bill of Rights? What makes you any different from blind Obama supporters?
I see the world, and the economy, as fragile as I ever have. When I hear Bubba Horowitz, who I like, on “Liberty and Finance” surmising silver fell 3 bucks because it was overbought I think 'no way' - it fell for 2 reasons: debtors needed liquidity so as to make themselves whole in the short run and because investors see a world falling apart.
Now, a desperate/dangerous US rises the threat level, moving forces/equipment closed to Iran/Yemen. Don't miss the ultimate irony here: as US has threatened to do, often, since Hiroshima, against nuclear nations/non nuclear nations, use of nuclear weapons may have to assure Iran never gets them. Time to rewatch Dr. Strangelove? Russia and China both know that an attack on Iran is an attack on them. That the US, no matter the president, intends to extend Empire, and taking down Iran is much bigger than Syria Lebanon, Palestine. Trump/Netanyahu are busy murdering women and children, with maybe bigger plans in the offing. Does that raise a question for you?
Me, I'm hoping to sell 2 cars this week to get more silver while it is battered. I have enough, but it's the only money game I get to play outside of 3rd party control. Silver is the play - the pre-1965 dimes are best. I would so much rather have more big bags of dimes than a couple of cars I can do without. I'm betting by 2026 we will all wish we had more silver dimes.
