You've mocked the 1st Amendment. Globally, you are choosing imperialism, genocide and war crimes. This was to be expected from Neocon Rubio, Crusader Hegseth and Warhawk Waltz, but to see Trump and Tulsi eviscerate free speech and condone the murder of children is sad.
Trump likely doesn't understand the oath he took to protect America from enemies, both foreign and domestic, now requires that he protect the US from himself. Worse than that, if he persists with his mockery of free speech (using forced removal of "offenders" from the US), he is laying groundwork for a civil war pitting the more myopic of the red hats against any who abide by constitutional mandates, in this case the mandated duty of citizens. What is this mandate? The duty of every able bodied American as a member of various state militias to enforce laws, quell insurrection, and repel invasion. The Constitution (including the 1st Amendment) is the law of the land, and needs to be enforced against the Trump Administration that's conducting an insurrection against the Bill of Rights and free speech.
Trump seeks peace in Ukraine only to drive a wedge between China/Russia. Trump speaks of useless deaths while he facilitates war crimes against Palestinian civilians. Now he's killing Yemeni babies. Like Gaza babies, Yemeni babies must be terrorists? Putin is playing the grandstander for Trump because nothing would suit him better to have Donald J get the Nobel peace prize, something Trump wants. With Putin speaking about trusting Trump, Putin has one goal, to keep the dialogue between the two presidents in an effort to separate Trump from the sway of his clueless neocon advisors. This may sound a tad harsh given that I voted for, and advocated for, Trump. But the slimy traitors who occupied the Oval Office before Trump needed to be dispatched. Now after two months Trump has lost me and my support. To have chosen a bigger ship of fools as a cabinet would stretch imagination. At the dregs, to have Tulsi Gabbard turn on a dime from compassion to just another agent for the killing fields . . . it's a B horror flick.
Among the worst things that could happen globally would be for Trump to be successful at driving a wedge between China/Russia. The single best hope for mankind is BRICS. Trump, more than anything else, wants BRICS to go down, to return to a world dominated by the US Empire - looking out on its creation through tired, predatory eyes. Assume for a moment Trump and his appointed cabinet are buffoons. Assume further that Netanyahu, when he finds himself counterattacked after striking Iran, calls on Trump for support. There is no way he doesn't get support from Trump and the US - the beginning of the end. While a carrier group captain smirks about how Houthis drones will not get in the way of Taco Tuesday consider what happens when taco day is interrupted with tacos scattered on the bottom of the sea. Trump didn't lean on Bibi to allow vital supplies into Gaza, which is the Houthis' requirement to maintain open sea lanes. There may be no going back.
The United States has degenerated. When Secretary of State Mike Pompeo (a Trump appointee during his first term) addressed West Point cadets extolling/joking/demeaning their motto “Duty, Honor,
Country” in favor of his CIA promoting the telling of lies, that forecasted our end. And when Netanyahu can quip about pagers, after using explosive rigger pagers to maim hundreds of civilians in Lebanon, and gets a laugh from Congress, we've lost it. This brings us to a dangerous subject - inalienable rights. Are there such? There are but they exist without divine enforcement mechanisms (at least in this life). Instead, we rely on government as enforcers of liberty. In the West, liberty is going, going, gone. Trump, our great white hope, is arresting students who don't agree with Netanyahu. It doesn't affect you . . . you're not a student, right? But didn't Hitler first come for the gypsies?
There's only one exemplary member of Congress - Thomas Massie. And he's the guy Trump wants to get rid of the most. It is my hope that Putin wears the mantle of Massie and can't be bought. Without the Putin/Xi alliance, human existence is at great peril. As in Iraq, the world might again be saved by Putin. In his last speech he referred to Odessa as either an "apple of discord" or a way to work out the problem. Apple of discord refers back to Greek mythology. Putin is the one playing chess. He sees Odessa as a bargaining chip that assures Ukraine has access to the sea. This would give Trump the win that he needs in order to sign a treaty guaranteeing Russia's security.
What remaining countries support US Bill of Rights? Failing that, where might we emigrate to if Trump can't accept defeat in Ukraine, bringing nuclear attack on the US? I'm driving through Florida, with few travel options outside of the US. My erstwhile favorite destination, Mexico, is in the news for murder/cremation sites of young men/travelers. Carney is the full-on WEF along with Trudeau. The West (EU, AUS, NZ) . . . forget about it. What about Russia? Neither Russia/China are outspoken about Gaza genocide and terror. When the West opted to dismantle Syria, using ISIS, Russia backed-off. China took no action. What happens if Trump (who detests weakness), proposes a grand bargain with major sdversaries. Divide up the world into spheres of influence. Even if Putin is ethically opposed his concern is for Russia. Lifting US sanctions for a secure trade relationship may prove impossible to pass up. As I said - I pray Vladimir holds the line.
Nations are formed by facts on the ground. Syria is gone, the oldest civilization maybe never to return. Ukraine will never be what it was 2 years ago. If the US and Israel got its way there would be no Lebanon or Iran. Without backing from Russia and China there is no Iran. No UN veto could hold back the West from inflicting a new global Dark Age. Before long, instead of talking about Constitutional concerns, we could be focused on survival, both economically and politically. Facing the prospect of being mowed down at the front door for speaking out, or, failing to do as the Houthis are doing - standing up to colonizers. Instead, did we opt to slide back to the comfort of Sinatra and George Strait - easy listening?
In keeping with those who accuse me of unaccountable hopelessness, my next article will address the utter hopelessness of Trump's economic program. What about his program makes failure inevitable? I didn't think Trump could alienate me politically or economically in over 2 months. There's good reasons that he did, if one cares to look.
