700 people flood downtown Dallas to protest President Trump's immigration policies

DALLAS — Approximately 700 people gathered near the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge Sunday to protest President Donald Trump's immigration policies, executive orders and threats of mass deportations.

The crowd, diverse and united in their message, voiced concerns over what they described as divisive and harmful policies targeting immigrant communities.

"I am a daughter of two immigrants that came here illegally, yes," one woman in attendance told WFAA in tears. "And that’s the only crime they’ve ever committed. And to see the hate and vitriol being spread in this country, it hurts. People that look like me we’re not here to hurt you. We just come to work, we just want to make sure everyone in our family is taken care of with health care."
